My Satellite A215 has been on it's way out for like a year now. Thing had a long run now it's time to hang it up. Decided to brush up on what is considered mid-range for a laptop today so I could eat. Didn't want something too cheapy but didn't want a gaming machine either (don't play anything other than CS and I'm not rich). Found something nice on slick deals and took the plunge Dell Inspiron i15R 15.6in screen/720P 3rd Gen i5 1TB HD 8GB Memory only windows 7 but that's not a deal breaker to me for 470 shipped from Newegg. Original cost was 700. I'm full. I don't actually fuck with Dell but I felt the specs were nice for something so affordable. Found a similarly spec'd HP Envy that had a backlit keyboard.. was almost gonna cop that before I saw this one. It was 530 and had Windows 8. No bluetooth though and it was only 750GB hard drive. Looked nice though. It was at Best Buy if anyone wants it. Probably sold out by now

I have windows 8 on my desktop but I partitioned my hard drive, so I could duel boot Windows 7 and Windows 8. I'm not completely sold on Windows 8 yet to make the full transformation.

smart... I was just so excited to dive in. I'm not upset that I did, but people weren't lying when they said this was for touchscreen laptops. That being said the standard desktop is at the touch of a button so it's all good. And it's not too awkward to navigate with the mouse. Kinda like having news and sports apps at my fingertips too.

my laptop is on it's last legs, trying so hard to hold out until something I like comes out.
The left hinge no longer functions, I can totally detach my screen from that side. smh.

haha. Mine was fucked up but internally... I could pass it off to someone and they wouldn't know it was a piece of shit until they ran it. Still solid cosmetically
and yea might as well wait now. new intel processors on deck

This thing still runs like a tank, it's just hard to keep the screen in a position that's actually functional. I'll turn it into a media center for my living room eventually. The worst part is my other laptop only functions when it's hooked up to a monitor. So I pretty much have two laptops that are complete shit when the lid is open.
When I buy something new, I want a convertible/all in one of sorts. The Lenovo Yoga is right up my alley, but it doesn't have a GPU. Give me a GPU + convertible and I'd happily pay well over what the components are actually worth.
