but on the flip side often have worse online support and a smaller user base. Obviously that depends on the game, but these days a lot of games are xbox ports that don't get the proper support (2k). that's not so true anymore... the PC community has actually grown over the past couple of years. I read an article showing that PC Gamers might actually be the "popular" community over console gamers in the next 4-5 years... (especially if this Wii U crap is a sign of things to come from Sony and Microsoft) It's certainly not true for every game, or most, but there are some where the online support is just awful/clearly not something that a lot of time was put into. On the note of mods, pretty much every year someone does an NCAA mod for 2k. That alone makes having a gaming PC worth it to me.

But then I guess that too depends on hardware right? Like if you haven't got a powerful enough machine or the right graphics card then it's still gonna be bad or run slow. Each to their own I guess. I can at least see why people are so in to PC gaming. The thing is, the 360 uses a graphic chip that's less powerful than some $100 graphic chips. A decent processor and a average dedicated video card gets you up to snuff with the 360. This generation of consoles has had a much longer shelf life than prior generations, and because of that game graphics have actually been held back a bit in a lot of cases. The result is graphics cards/PCs that can keep their value as gaming machines for much longer.

sort of irrelevant. Most games are made to be compatible with both the ps3 and xbox. Even though the ps3 is more powerful, games are still held back by the 360's lower graphical processing capability.

Not really about gaming but I prefer my desktop over my laptop. I have a laptop for work but I have a desk set up in my bedroom with my desktop and I just like it better. Even when I am working on my laptop I connect it to the desktop monitor and set up the mouse and keyboard.
Though I understand the people who prefer laptops. I had a bad experience with mine and like the feel of a desk. I figure in the future I will probably get me a laptop as well just for convenience.

Yah in that sense though I much prefer laptops at home because I'm working at a PC every day for 10-12 hours a day. Don't want to be sitting at a desk when I'm at home.

It's not the best deal ever or anything like that, but it's solid value for the power. If you're cool with the weight/size of it, the shit ton of blue lights, and the somewhat iffy build quality of the case, then you should go for it.

you think the price will drop in a month? or it'll probably be no less than $1700 for the next few months?

I wouldn't have the slightest clue. Things do tend to drop around Thanksgiving, and laptop prices can drop pretty steadily, but there's never a guarantee.

My Satellite A215 has been on it's way out for like a year now. Thing had a long run now it's time to hang it up. Decided to brush up on what is considered mid-range for a laptop today so I could eat. Didn't want something too cheapy but didn't want a gaming machine either (don't play anything other than CS and I'm not rich). Found something nice on slick deals and took the plunge
Dell Inspiron i15R 15.6in screen/720P 3rd Gen i5 1TB HD 8GB Memory only windows 7 but that's not a deal breaker to me
for 470 shipped from Newegg. Original cost was 700. I'm full.
I don't actually fuck with Dell but I felt the specs were nice for something so affordable.
Found a similarly spec'd HP Envy that had a backlit keyboard.. was almost gonna cop that before I saw this one. It was 530 and had Windows 8. No bluetooth though and it was only 750GB hard drive. Looked nice though. It was at Best Buy if anyone wants it. Probably sold out by now

I am looking to get a wireless keyboard. Probably going with a logitech since the mouse I am aiming for is also a logitech (couch mouse so I can use it on the couch or my bed...my desk is glass so I can't use many mouses on it at all...I usually just use a mousepad).
Does anyone have any experience with them?

Posting from my new laptop yeee. This resolution is ass smh gonna take a long time to get used to it. Old ass satellite had better shit than this. But the speed of this thing oh yea I upgraded to Windows 8 since it was 15 dollars and apparently there's a way to get a 15 dollar visa prepaid from Dell (still working on finding this). Iunno how I feel about it yet
