lol cc sounds so lost it's not going to be able to handle high end games on their highest settings. If you want to know what types of games the laptop can handle, find out what video card it has (under Specs, in this case it's a AMD Radeon HD 6470M) and check it out at a place like notebookcheck.net (in this case www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6470M.43075.0.html)At the bottom you'll see the FPS games get at different settings with this graphics card. Pretty much anything under 30 is unplayable.

I'm curious, never been a PC gamer so I don't understand... but why would you prefer to play games on a laptop than on a desktop when for far less money you can get a more powerful desktop, and maybe use up the leftover money on a good screen to go with it? I mean playing games on a 15 inch or 17 inch laptop... why not get a bigger monitor to go with a desktop?

Also what's the attraction of PC games vs console games? Like if you had the same game available on PC and say PS3, why would you want the PC version over the PS3 version? Why would you want to be sat at the desk real close to the screen playing when you could be chilling on a couch with a controller playing and watching the screen at a regular distance like when watching TV?

Well not all games go cross platforms. Like I love Medieval Total War, but they don't make it for anything but PC.

And I agree. I went PC for the fact that it just has more juice and the screen. But some people like to play on the road and therefore need a laptop.

Mobility. It's the same as asking why anyone would ever buy a laptop rather than a desktop. And if you get a powerful enough laptop you can go ahead and plug it in to your monitor and use it like a desktop anyways. You're ultimately paying extra for the mobility.

There's no reason you can't play a PC game the same way you would a counsel game. You don't have to be sitting at a desk.
PC games have the advantage of being more customizable (mods!), but on the flip side often have worse online support and a smaller user base. Obviously that depends on the game, but these days a lot of games are xbox ports that don't get the proper support (2k).

Or like me I'm 1) to lazy to build my own PC and 2)I'd much rather have a laptop which I can use upstairs while drinking my coffee and then bring it back down to stairs.

Yeah but like aren't the best types of gaming laptops etc pretty big anyway and heavy etc? Which is why Marty said he wasn't bothered about how big it was?

OK I suppose so with the mods... seen some of those custom zombie maps for Black Ops online which look pretty sweet.

I just never really been in to PC games... I just see it as people sitting around playing minecraft and that warcraft shit and just think UGH lol

Why would you want to be sat at the desk real close to the screen playing when you could be chilling on a couch with a controller playing and watching the screen at a regular distance like when watching TV? the lifetime of a game is expanded so much more on PC with mods... examples of this are rampant just look at DayZ, Counter-Strike etc these are all "mods" that were made by people and majority of all mods are free. Also, alot of games on PC are not avaialble on consoles and sometimes PC games play much better on PC than console... also you CAN use a controller for PC games if you really wanted to(I use my 360 controller) you can also set up your PC to connect to your big screen TV and play that way which many people do as well. I mean I was never a PC gamer but really PC games are where it's at the graphics are infinitely better than consoles, and you can do everything you said you can do with consoles(use a controller, sit a far distance, etc). To me PC games win over consoles simply because of the Modding community. You might spend $40-50 on a game and get hundreds and hundreds of playing hours through a game thanks to mods... again all my comments are coming from strictly a console gamer.. I've never had a PC that's been capable of playing games at it's highest settings but I definitely want to. Things you pay extra on PSN or XBL as DLC for your games also majority of the time are FREE on PC(great example of this is the Left 4 dead games all the DLC is free on PC but you have to pay for it on Xbox)

I read an article showing that PC Gamers might actually be the "popular" community over console gamers in the next 4-5 years... (especially if this Wii U crap is a sign of things to come from Sony and Microsoft)

I suppose if it's just expanding games then that's pretty cool. But like games like COD which are all about the online community... are there as many players online on PC than say Xbox or PS3? Is there much difference playing it on PS3 vs PC? Are the graphics really that much better? If I had more time I'd probably want to venture in to this world too just to see what the fuss is about, just never really gotten out of the casual gamer routine of just coming home, sitting on the couch and switching on the Playstation. Old school lol.

Old school lol. The online community is pretty big for COD and most FPS games... I mean on Steam(which is like Xbox Live or Playstation Network) it's always in tthe top 10 of games played and sold. As for graphics, are the graphics significantly better on PC than PS3 yes and no... it's complicated.. but majority of the time yes the graphics are so much better especially if you have games on the highest of settings... why I say yes and no is because if a game is made for PS3 or 360 and then ported to PC sometimes but very rarely the graphics are the "same" but majority of the time PC has and will have the better graphics. A game like Crysis which I think is almost 5-6 years old still looks better than ALOT of ps3/360 games that are still being release today

But then I guess that too depends on hardware right? Like if you haven't got a powerful enough machine or the right graphics card then it's still gonna be bad or run slow. Each to their own I guess. I can at least see why people are so in to PC gaming.
