Portland had a high scoring big in Aldridge, they needed a rebounding/Defense big, and Camby was that. Blocks are not the entire Defensive picture, and Camby was one of the best rebounders in the league last year, with multiple 20 rebound games, he was never asked to score, that doesnt make him worse. Having any of those scoring bigs would not have made Portland better at all, they needed rebounding, Defense, and somebody who didnt need to be in the paint where Aldridge was set to work, moving Camby for a dump was easily a rebuilding move, he would be a 20+ minute guy off this Portland Bench (likely really starting, with Hickson coming in and moving Aldridge to C)

I have no idea and have mixed feelings about trading him in the first place. I dont like any of the deals mentioned in that article btw, I'd rather they kept him. Keep in mind with Hollinger in a big decision making role I think he is on his way out on the cheap,and I won't be happy about that at all.

I heard someone on the Grizzlies board mention Philly for Thad or Turner as a centerpiece. I'd love that but it's unrealistic
