I'd rather draft a backup at 8 than at 4.

They aren't the only team. By the sounds of it he wasn't falling past the Raptors, but our GM has a tendency to be a loudmouth smoke screener. Waiters has skills, I just wonder about his ability to effectively guard the two, play off the ball, and finish at the rim when contested. The league averaging at the rim is around 63%, Waiters is 10% below that. It also sounds like his work ethic is pretty shaky, I remember Scott saying he was out of shape at the start of the year. Idk, I just don't see the fit in Cleveland. He might be more talented than a guy like Barnes (might), but Barnes would have been a perfect fit in Cleveland. I mean he's a rookie, so he can obviously improve, but he's been rough so far, though at least Austin Rivers is there to take the attention away Cavs need a guy who can create next to Kyrie not a poor man's Jared Dudley. They probably should have taken Drummond but there's really nobody else in the top 10 after their pick that would have been better. Barnes had the whole 'Black Falcon' or whatever it was too which probably turned Grant off even more... Besides him, you know, sucking at the game of basketball. Waiters doesn't get a lot of foul calls which hurts his % a bit... In time I think he can be average there even though he forces shots a little too much. He's been much better shooting wise since the beginning of Jan. If he does end up as 6th man it'd be in a Manu or Harden role which isn't a negative I don't think... Probably going to need a Thabo or Danny Green to cover Kyrie... Just need to find a SF who can score (or SG I guess if he can play some SF, doesn't really matter) and a solid center with range and good size since Tristan is a little short. Someone like Brook Lopez would be perfect... Someone like Varejao holds Tristan back a bit, so I think if we draft Nerlens we basically have to bench Tristan which is just stupid. Top 6 center + Mid teens guard/forward (Lakers pick hopefully)... Drafting Mclemore would mean Dion is an auto 6th man and idk with the new cap structure if I want a lot of money just locked up in guards. TL:DR Lebron plz come back.

The Cavs need a stud shot blocker more than they need a C with range. The majority of Tristan's possessions start on the baseline 15 feet from the basket, pairing him with a guy with no range won't effect him.
Finishing was a problem for Waiters in college too. I like his potential, but that definitely needs to start going up. He misses a lot of layups, but it's better than lacking overall skill.

I wonder how high Shabazz shoots up the list after his empty gym workouts. I don't get how you can shoot .425 from 3 but then under 80 from the line.
I hope Waiters doesn't deter the Cavs from taking a guard if there's on there.

Idk, I don't think Tristan no longer playing with Andy is just a coincidence when it comes to his improvement... Idk I don't like Nerlens or McLemore so this draft will likely disappoint me =/ True.
