I'm serious about the Tristan thing too traves, watch him play now. Looks completely different. Yeah statistically it's pretty crazy how he's producing. I still don't see the upside. I'm happy his %'s are nearing 50 finally. The reality tho is 4's have to able to hit 15 footers these days by necessity, and his size concerns me. He has like 80 games on Jonas, and from a pure skill/upside standpoint, it's not really debatable. I give credit where it's due, but Jonas has legit centre size, range to 15 feet and has an insane motor at his size. If love if Tristan was good tho. Obviously a huge part of Canada's basketball program.

Plus Tristan has a competent coach. Ours would rather play Aaron gray and Alan Anderson over Jonas and Ross

Having seen Lillard play in person now, quick shot release is huge for him, doesnt look exceedingly fast, nor is he going to break your ankles, just real smooth and a real quick pull up

Obviously a huge part of Canada's basketball program. Tristan still has tremendous upside. He's an athletic freak. But now all of the sudden, he has a little right handed floater, has shown a sweeping right handed hook shot, and is even taking guys off the dribble from the 3PT line. Can use both hands equally as good, hitting FTs at a higher rate. Chris Grant is starting to look pretty smart taking him. Oh, and Byron Scott is not competent. He's the worst.

Just read the Royce White piece on Grantland. Really intelligent dude IMO. However, I think the dude needs to stop trying to uncover every mystery of the world and focus on his own individual happiness. Royce White, the philosopher, won't help him get anywhere.

I'll have to try and catch a few cavs games. Been slacking on the nba with the nhl back. Watched a few earlier in the year and walked away unimpressed, especially by waiters. Not a big fan at all. Irving is sweet tho obv.

wish the cavs would have drafted anyone but Dion Waiters. He is ok and maybe he will make it as a slasher type player but seems like a career 6th man to me.
here is to Nerlens Noel, Shabazz Muhammad being in a cavs uniform next year

Alex Len is probably the best fit but I want Noel or McLemore.

Picking a good 6th man in the lotto is always a bad move. It's not like he could ever be a good starter either, he's already 21 he should be playing like Harden or Westbrook or Beal or all the other great rookie guards played or are playing! They were all efficient! And yeah Nerlens and Tristan together, that'd go so well!

You don't draft a 6th man 4th! I think waiters can be better than that tho, just a matter of if he works on it or not. Past history and chubbiness points the other way

Past history and chubbiness points the other way Yeah it's best to draft a soft backup C fifth, then draft a decent backup SG 8th, THEN trade your best player for a below average player making max money! Don't forget also giving a bench warmer 20M to try to get Steve Nash because obviously only the Knicks wanted him too!

They aren't the only team. By the sounds of it he wasn't falling past the Raptors, but our GM has a tendency to be a loudmouth smoke screener.
Waiters has skills, I just wonder about his ability to effectively guard the two, play off the ball, and finish at the rim when contested. The league averaging at the rim is around 63%, Waiters is 10% below that. It also sounds like his work ethic is pretty shaky, I remember Scott saying he was out of shape at the start of the year.
Idk, I just don't see the fit in Cleveland. He might be more talented than a guy like Barnes (might), but Barnes would have been a perfect fit in Cleveland. I mean he's a rookie, so he can obviously improve, but he's been rough so far, though at least Austin Rivers is there to take the attention away
