Cleveland Cavaliers send:
Nate Templeton CHI '24 1st BOS '23 1st CLE '24 2nd CLE '25 2nd
Chicago Bulls send:
Da'Sean Butler
--
I trade one of our offensive leaders and get Tempelton an a handful of picks in exchange, which will let us play Parsons and Nate around rotating positions. Our future recovers from past trades and we'll see if we keep the picks or maybe work trades out with them to add real talent now and not have to wait since those Drafts.

Agree.
I have a legit scorer now... I will try to move taylor or coon for an upgrade, maybe a pf. I think I can survive without tempelton.

Awful for the Bulls. Can't trade Butler and not get Coon or DeBernardi.

Anything short of DeBernardi would be a bad deal. Coon + 1sts maybe

I'm pretty sure anyone in the league would give up 4 1sts for Butler. Hell, I I got 5 for Isaiah Austin.

I can be wrong but I don't see Butler scoring as much as in Chicago with no A handlers giving him the ball. He's shooting .390 from 3PT while almost leading the 3PT attempts per game, so it's normal he gets points and points if he's sooting more than any one. Older for younger. Both Tempelton and the future picks. Prime/peek reached. Time for the attributes to lower during the next season an so on.
The first to admit it's been hard to give Butler its me. Apart from Smart he was the attacking force of the team, but we're betting for get a little younger and share the points between teammates, not accumulating all the shots in one player. It can work or it can be a fail, but now, I really couldn't judge if it's going to be a one-sided trade as it seems fair to me.

Templeton seems pretty worthless to me. 1 1st of his and 3 probable not-lottos.

as point of reference ashes was going to do this in the offseason - chi 24, celtics 22, rockets 22, expirings for butler. you decide what's better... tempelton is definitely better than rockets 22

I'm not going to discuss how the Cavs should play for him in terms of Balance, Pace, yada yada, because it's not my job but I'm not sure he can produce as he's been doing without a good scheme. Anyways, we'll see how it works. I'm sure he'll keep scoring given the scoring numbers of the Cleveland players. He'll have nothing to absorb so he'll keep putting up high scores shooting it all without opposition.

Tempelton + 2 1sts is decent value for a aging star.... he's 34 next year. Ashes was willing to receive less.
