1) Philadelphia 76ers - Charlie Stoffer PG 6'8" 210 19 B C+ C+ B C+ A
While this pick certainly isn't a no-brainer due to underwhelming notes, Stoffer has the prettiest ratings by a good margin over anyone in the draft.
At 6'8" 210 lbs, Stoffer will be a huge point guard who has the ability to average close to a triple double from the jump.
Point guard is also a position of need for the 76ers, not to mention a point guard who compliments Andre Drummond, which Stoffer definitely will.
Low risk pick, but you know what to expect.
2) New Orleans Hornets (via Milwaukee Bucks) - Robert Beech SF 6'10" 195 20 B C D C C A
What rhymes with reach? Beech. This would indeed be a reach, but the Hornets need someone who can help them win right away. Beech's notes are conducive to what the Hornets are looking for: inside-oriented, high FT%, low turnovers.
The big question mark with Beech is his efficiency. If most of his opportunities are based on athleticism, how high is his actual inside rating?
Beech is far from a sure thing, but he's the best fit for the Hornets.
3) San Antonio Spurs - Tony McLin C 7'0" 285 19 C+ D D+ B- B- A
This would be the no-brainer of the draft.
The Spurs have Crittes and Poppa, who will continue to grow, so why not roll the dice on a player who you know will do nothing next season and get better in the meantime.
The Spurs would have Poppa, Crittes and McLin as their future pieces, plus a likely top-10 pick in the next season's draft.
The big question is what McLin's ceiling is. He's a bad jump shooter, not an elite shot blocker, an okay inside scorer - what is he actually good at?
If he's got sky high potential, he could be a beast, but all of that could be negated by a single injury incurred during his rookie contract.
The definition of high risk, high reward.
4) Atlanta Hawks (via Denver Nuggets) - Hew Lenderyou SF 6'9" 245 20 D+ A C C+ B A
This pick will almost certainly be traded with the Hawks entering their contract year next season.
Lenderyou could very easily get scooped by a team in need of an outside shooter.
If the Hawks draft, it's doubtful they go in this direction as it would be completely contrary to utilizing Meanwell.
Lenderyou is likely a top-5 pick, so I wouldn't be shocked to see a team sneak into this spot and pick him up.
5) Sacramento Kings - Sidney Jones SG 6'3'' 180 22 B+ C C C+ C B
Another slight reach, but a perfect fit for the Kings with Bennett, Bagaric and Simon up front.
They will certainly bank on a solid TC from Robinson and round out their starting five with a safe pick who has few flaws.
I doubt that Jones is on many teams' radars in the top-5, but the Kings will probably try to add more youth who can contribute right away.
6) Miami Heat - Johnie McKeown PG 6'1" 175 23 C B B+ C C- B
The Heat need a point guard, so why not grab an efficient one who will also cure what ails the team.
The Heat are also not in a hurry to win right away and will probably want to lose for a few more years.
McKeown sounds like he will be a solid utility player who a team will want to keep around for a long time.
7) Indiana Pacers - Aldabert Toppag PF 6'10" 255 19 B C C C+ C A
The Pacers have a very well-rounded team and Toppag will be a nice fit.
Obviously he is in the Dirk Nowitzki mold and could be a huge steal at this point in the draft.
Toppag gives the Pacers the flexibility to build their team inside or out and can contribute right away.
His value would have been much higher if he was able to play SF.
8) Utah Jazz - Martin Krause C 7'0'' 275 18 B- C D B- C+ B
Krause is a solid big man prospect who is very young.
He's not fantastic at anything at this point, but the Jazz can afford to roll the dice on him and hope for the best.
They are smitten with Gallagher, which means that they will likely target a solid inside-oriented player and Krause fits that mold to a T.
9) Denver Nuggets (via Cleveland Cavaliers) - Tobias Boudreau SG 6'3" 210 20 C+ B+ C B C A
The Nuggets have no direction right now, so they may as well take a guy with good upside who could be a star.
At this point in the draft, Boudreau has the highest upside by far the Nuggets benefit from the teams picking ahead of them being inside focused.
Boudreau also fits well around Kestersen, who could end up being a nice piece.
10) Atlanta Hawks - Meinrad Wagenbrenner PF 6'11'' 225 20 B C- D- C+ B B
Wagenbrenner makes sense as a prospect next to Meanwell. He'll add a good inside presence, grab boards and do the dirty work.
Of course, drafting him could be an admission that the Hawks are giving up on Longes and Barnes early, which may be a mistake.
This pick is likely to be traded, but Wagenbrenner should be a consideration in the top-10 for any team.
11) Seattle Sonics - Larry Kennedy SG 6'6'' 205 20 B- B C+ C+ C B
The Sonics will essentially select the best outside-oriented player on the board and that looks to be Kennedy.
At age 20, he projects to have good upside and his notes show that he can improve across the board.
This would be a solid pick at this position.
12) Miami Heat (via Portland Trailblazers) - Terrance Russell SG 6'5" 215 22 C+ C+ C+ B C A
The Heat could use a point guard and it looks like Russell is better suited there. GP writes articles, so he'd be able to quickly +8 Russell after drafting him.
Russell may not be available this late, but if he is, expect him to get snapped up.
Russell could work at PG, SG or SF and whoever drafts him should wait until after TC to decide where to play him.
13) Utah Jazz (via Boston Celtics) - Matej Benda C 7'0'' 230 20 B- D+ C- B C+ B
Another project big man who can make an impact if he makes some jumps in TC.
The Jazz need help everywhere, so look for them to grab the best player available and in this case, it's Benda.
His notes are rather vague, which could be a good or bad thing.
14) Miami Heat (via Golden State) - Josh Moy SF 6'7" 220 22 C+ C C+ A C+ C
With the Heat's third pick, Moy falls into his lap and there's no way he passes him up.
15) Minnesota Timberwolves - Darryl Myles PF 6'10'' 245 19 B D D+ B- C+ B
The Wolves get a nice, young compliment to Leonard and Harrison with Myles, who could give them 20/9 in the near future.
16) Detroit Pistons - Greg Savoie SG 6'5'' 205 21 B B- C- C+ C B
Savoie gives the Pistons some great depth at SG/SF and with some good TCs, he could be a great player.
17) Orlando Magic (via Washington) - Patrick Padgett SF 6'7'' 243 22 C B C C+ C A
Magic take a stab at a boom/bust player who fits their outside system
18) Orlando Magic - Justin Ratchford PG 6'0'' 200 22 C+ B A- C C C
Solid depth PG behind Lillard
19) New Orleans Hornets (via Houston Rockets)- Goffredo Millemaci C 7'1'' 275 19 C D+ D+ C+ C+ A
The Hornets can afford to take a risk on a huge upside player
20) L.A. Clippers - Rocky Dalessio PG 6'2'' 200 23 B+ C C C+ C C
Clippers need some help at PG
21) Dallas Mavericks - Phillip Tornopsky SG 6'6'' 183 21 C+ B C B C A
22) Toronto Raptors - Yahn Dampier SG 5'11'' 160 23 C B A+ C C- B
23) Denver Nuggets (via NY Knicks) - Darwin Mott SG 6'7'' 200 20 B C C+ B- C B
24) L.A. Lakers - Lamont Sage PF 6'8'' 245 20 C C C C+ A- B
25) Atlanta Hawks (via NJ Nets) - Shane Newell C 7'1'' 244 23 C+ C- C C+ B- A
26) Memphis Grizzlies - Griffin Dampier SF 6'8'' 225 20 B- C C B- C- A
27) Orlando Magic (via NO Hornets) - Julius Mokray SF 6'10'' 235 20 C+ B- C- B C A
28) Phoenix Suns - Brant Wicklund PF 6'10'' 225 22 C+ C+ C- B- C+ C
29) San Antonio Spurs (via Chicago Bulls) - Isaac Shirley SG 6'6'' 215 21 C+ A- C- C+ C B
While this pick certainly isn't a no-brainer due to underwhelming notes, Stoffer has the prettiest ratings by a good margin over anyone in the draft.
At 6'8" 210 lbs, Stoffer will be a huge point guard who has the ability to average close to a triple double from the jump.
