And you could only do it in the 1st year of the contract. You can't decide later on you want to backload it to avoid the HC.

Especially since all of the contracts are structured the same way right now, it wouldn't kick in for awhile.

Ya. I might be okay with just a complete reversal of the contract if the team has room under the HC. SO a 12/13/14/15 type deal would be 15/14/13/12. But I dont like the idea of backloading because of the retiring thing.

Once every 3 years you can restructure by front loading. HC rules apply.
