Obviously lots will change with the finished file yet to be released, but this is a great draft and Id like to get the conversation started.
1. Los Angeles Clippers - Anthony Davis PF 6'10'' 220 19 B C- D+ B+ C+ A - After going with Drummond here before now Ive shifted to Davis. I think Davis is more of a sure thing and is still destined to be a stud defensively. Drummond might have more appeal in certain circles but with the #1 pick I think Davis is the safe bet. He combines with Chandler Parsons to be a very nice set of forwards for the future. Clippers need to tank again though because they still need a PG and a #1 scorer.
2. Boston Celtics - Andre Drummond C 6'10'' 270 18 B+ D- F+ C+ B+ A - The Celtics already have a nice big man combination in Greg Smith and Greg Monroe but they cant pass on Drummond here. Drummond is actually a pretty good fir with the 2 Gregs. They can score and rebound and Drummond can block shots. Having 3 nice young bigs will allow Boston to tank one more year because of their lack of back court and potentially deal one of these guys when the time is right.
3. New Orleans Hornets - Bradley Beal SG 6'3'' 207 19 C+ B+ B- C+ C- A - I could see the Hornets taking Lillard here but I think they want more of a 2 way player and Beal could be it. Beal is gonna be a #1 option type and that will be a perfect fit with Blake Griffin sliding to #2. With Thompson, Griffin and Beal the Hornets have a nice future and the ability to tank one more year if necessary.
4. Washington Wizards - Michael Kidd-Gilchrist SF 6'7'' 205 19 B- C C A B- A - The Wizards already have a couple of nice pieces to build around in Valanciunas and Hayward. Here they bring in a super glue guy in MKG. This allow Hayward to slide to the SG spot which is where he belongs. Gives the Wizards 3 plus youngsters to build around. Now they need a PG and a shot blocking big.
5. Memphis Grizzlies - Damian Lillard PG 6'2'' 190 21 C+ A- B- C- D+ A - Lillard doesnt seem like a fit with reigning ROY Irving already on the roster but you always have to take the BPA. If Kobe can groom both of these players he will have 2 of the best young PGs around and can deal one for a stud at another position. In the short term having two PGs like this and no real big men will allow them to tank pretty easily.
6. Los Angles Lakers - Harrison Barnes SF 6'8'' 223 20 B- B- C B- C A - The Lakers just want to take the best youth possible and will figure out their lineup later. Here they get a top tier young talent at #6. Barnes, Leonard and Favors is pretty nice.
7. Philadelphia 76ers - Dion Waiters SG 6'4'' 210 20 C+ B B C D+ A - The Sixers need bigs so what do they do? They take a SSG that ACTS like a PG. Perfect fit. Expect the Sixers to have 15 guards on their roster by opening day!
8. San Antonio Spurs - Thomas Robinson PF 6'9'' 240 21 C+ C- D C+ B A- Spurs need bigs and while Robinson isnt that defender rebounder most teams want he can board and score and has upside. ALso allows them to tank longer.
9. Denver Nuggets - Terrance Ross SG 6'6'' 195 21 B- B C- B- C A - Ross, Roy and Rose should be a nasty back court for the present and for the future. All can score and are young enough to grow together. Could also see Denver dealing this pick for a VET big man.
10. Seattle Super Sonics - Royce White PF 6'8'' 270 21 B- D+ B+ C B- B - Sonics need to upgrade the PG spot badly. White can start at PG? Might be worth a shot. Kinda unconventional but it may work. White is a very intriguing talent and could have quite a bit of trade value.
11. Milwaukee Bucks -Meyers Leonard C 7'0'' 245 20 B- C F+ B- C A - Bucks need to add talent. Leonard is raw and has some scary negatives but hes big strong and athletic. Bucks need to tank so taking raw guys isnt the worst thing to do.
12. Portland Trail Blazers - Austin Rivers SG 6'4'' 203 19 C C+ C C+ D A - Meh if this is who I get. He looks horrid. He needs to ahve 150 in potential. Horrible.
13. Orlando Magic - Kendall Marshall PG 6'4'' 180 20 C C+ A- C+ C- A - Play said this was his pick. I think hes lying because thats what he does. having said that I figure this is as good as any spot to take a shot at Plays character. What a lying POS! Amirite? JK Play. Love ya..
