at a certain point, typically after the first round and major notables from the second round, I stop basing it off real life...making scrubs with ratings based off their real numbers would take forever

Alec Burks SG 78 193 19 Colorado C C+ C- B- C- A Burks is raw, but that much should be pretty clear, at 19, he needs the extra time to develop his offensive game, which right now can only really be described as ugly, he is underwhelming inside and outside, making him a prime candidate to slide on draft day. However, he is a pretty good athlete, and uses his athleticism well on the defensive end, showing great perimeter defensive abilites. His offense will determine his role at the next level, questionable whether it can become useful, but with training it’s a possibility, especially early on.
Klay Thompson SG 79 206 21 Washington State C+ A- C C+ C- B Thompson is a scorer, don’t confuse him with anything else. He and Iman Shumpert are virtual opposites, Klay can put the ball in the hoop anywhere, showing great inside ability for a wing, with a sneaky ability to get inside despite underwhelming athleticism. The real key to Klays scoring though is the ability to fire away from both midrange and deep already combined with that inside ability, making him capable already of 20 ppg scouts figure, though it depends on his adjustment. On the downside, he does nothing statistically defensively, and is just average at best positionally, which combined with slow feet, makes him a liability on that end of the court right now. Handles can be a bit sloppy, but really scouts feel that may be less of an issue at the next level where he wont need to force it as much, Washington State has struggled with playmakers this last year.Scouts don’t feel he has great upside, although really its because he is pretty crafty at scoring already, and while that will improve some you expect, there just isn’t that much he can make better without suddenly becoming more athletic.
Iman Shumpert SG 77 222 20 Georgia Tech C+ C+ C+ A- D+ B Shumpert is lost on offense, completely and utterly lost, but he makes up for it at the defensive end, where he uses his superb athleticism to cover really anybody in front of him. He can defend the post very well for an SG, has great awareness to come up with steals, and shows impressive ability as a perimeter defender. There are some worries about his handles, he gets a bit sloppy with the passing, moreso than the handles, and his three point shot is quite mediocre. Scouts are a bit down on him since his offense is so poor, but he should find a role on any team as a backup at least.
MarShon Brooks SG 77 195 22 Providence B- B- C C D+ B Brooks looks to score when the ball is put in his hands, which, is fine, its just, you wish he would play a bit more under control. He tends to commit too many offensive fouls, driving out of control, which may be his compensating for a complete lack of strength to move people around in the post. Obviously, he turns the ball over too much, but utilizes his athleticism very well in getting at the hoop, and does have promising ability as a scorer at the next level. The thing that has scouts so down on him is his lack of ability to play within his own ability. He wants to do too much, too often, and they don’t know if he ever gets over that. Oh, and he doesn’t really play D

He's not a hopeless offensive player at all. Shoots well from the line, has great shooting form, gets to the basket when he wants to. Just raw and takes bad shots.
