Tristan Thompson PF 81 227 20 Texas C+ D+ D B C+ A Tristan is a solid player, but not really a star type big. He can defend both the post and perimeter well, using his impressive athleticism well in keeping himself in front on D. He is a solid rebounder, and has a bit of shot blocking capability, though he relies on athleticism more than timing right now. Strength is underwhelming, as really is the entirety of his offensive game, but he could be a nice defensive big in the long run.
Jan Vesely PF 83 230 21 Serbia C+ D D+ C+ C A Vesely really doesn’t excel at anything, and is just SO raw, tough for him to be great honestly, he will need time to develop, a ton of work, and even then scouts question whether there is a place for him at the next level.
Bismack Biyombo PF 81 243 19 Congo C D D B+ C A Biyambo on the other hand does have a place at the next level. He has no offensive game, but that’s ok, because he is going to make his living as a defensive stopper, he can defend the post, blocks shots, and even has the ability to hang on the perimeter some, understanding positioning, and he has pretty good quickness. He can get pushed around in the post defensively, and his rebounding isn’t great, but scouts love the defensive big potential, should be a very good starting defensive big type, especially with work into his rebounding and shot blocking.
Kenneth Faried PF 79 225 21 Morehead State C+ C- D+ C+ B+ A This is a stacked class of PF’s, and Faried leads the charge here. He is quick as hell for a PF, an outstanding rebounder, steals well, with some shot blocking ability to boot. The knock is his offense is raw right now, and would need work right away to become great. Scouts love the upside, he has a great motor, the kind of hustle player you love to have on your team.
Nikola Mirotic PF 82 225 20 Montenegro C+ B C+ C+ C+ B If you draft Mirotic, don’t expect to see him any time soon, he is the definition of a draft and stash player. Scouts think he is probably not going to come over for at least 4 or 5 years, though there is the possibility of a large buyout at year 3 in his contract. Some scouts though feel he is worth the investment, seeing shades of Dirk Nowitzki in his talent level. Others feel he is an overrated foreign big who shies away from the post, relies on a real nice jump shot too much, rather than trying to get to the line. He plays good post D, has quick hands, takes care of the ball, and passes extremely well. (drafting team will receive info on Mirotic after they draft him as to his overall situation)
