Derrick Favors PF 82 245 18 Georgia Tech B- D+ F+ C+ C+ A Favors is one of the 2 PF's you could consider for the number one pick, he has sky high potential, at just 18, but his game is also very very raw. In a draft with really no sure things, Favors offers the biggest chance at a reward, he has a pretty prototypical big man game, though he as of yet does not excel at any one thing, he has a decent set of post moves, good athelticism, nice strength. He isnt a great shotblocker but thats very possible, Post D is solid, but not great. if you pick Favors, its the kind of pick that may not pay off til his contract expires, but give him time and work, and you could have a big time stud. On the other hand, being 18, there is always that chance he busts, so keep that in mind...he has huge potential, but putting it all together is another story.
Greg Monroe PF 83 247 20 Georgetown B- C- C C+ C+ A Monroe should be considered for the number one pick. His ratings are certainly not impressive, but his overall game is. Monroe has a polished inside game, is fairly strong, with a solid jump shot. He is a pretty good passer, steals the ball very well, is a very good post defender. Just a very good player all around. For weaknesses, I would say never expect him to block many shots, his offensive rebounding isnt all that great, better defensive rebounder. And there are some worries to be had about his handles. Athleticism is very poor.
Patrick Patterson PF 81 240 21 Kentucky B- B- D+ C C A Patterson is a bit of a boom bust pick, he is fairly athletic, can score inside and out, and could handle both the 3 and 4, but, he really doesnt stand out, more of a tweener. D is nothing special, nor is his rebounding. Should take pretty good care of the ball. Risk pick here.
Ed Davis PF 82 227 21 North Carolina C+ D+ D- B- B- B Ed may not be starter material any time in his career, thats a chance, but at the least he should be an excellent backup. He plays pretty good post D, has decent strength and is a good rebounder. should block 1-2 shots a game for his career. Turnovers arent a big worry. Never going to be a threat offensively, and may get a bit too shot happy from time to time. Solid player all around.
Ekpe Udoh PF 82 237 23 Baylor C C- D B+ C+ B Udo is a defending backup type. No offense to speak of, but a decent shotblocker, and post defender, solid jump shot. Rebounding is not great by anymeans, probably what prevents him from being a starter in the long run.
Larry Sanders PF 82 222 21 VCU C D D B- C+ B Sanders is the kind of backup big you love to have. He blocks and steals pretty well, and is a solid rebounder. The knocks are his strength, he has handling issues, and is not much of a post defender. but his shotblocking and stealing ability should find him a place on most teams.
Jarvis Varnado PF 81 210 22 Mississippi State C C- D B C C If you dont know what he does by now....well, dumb
