PIG: Yeah, if I had a AC for everytime someone said that to me Thaddeus Young would be the best player in BBS and some. Lets get to business shall we.
1. Tell us what your thoughts were on the Pistons-Heat Durant trade as of late ? Repole took Kevin Durant off a GM who is better known for his boyishly good looks and charm rather than his ability to be patient on players. What is the outlook and what can we expect from both teams in the near future.
This was such a bad trade at the time. Like maybe top 3 worse trades so far. It's getting better for Pig though. Bynum's TOs are under control and he can be counted on for a double-double nightly now. And yeah he's only 20!! And still has A potential! But wowwww.... Kevin Durant SF 25 34.6 30.4 6.7 1.7 1.2 0.9 2.0 .524 .824 .479!!! I don't hate the idea of trading Durant to improve, but I think Pig should have gotten a position of need instead of another big. That's the major reason why the Heat will be mediocre for a long time now. Pistons should end up with Rose, Westbrook, Love, Hibbert, or Noah and that's a filthy 1-2 punch. Only thing that I hated was the way Repole was a dbag afterwards. That was real gheyyyy.
PIG RESPONSE: Alright this answer really pissed me off because the analysis was so ridiculously shortsighted that I had to respond. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, and right now the trade looks absolutley awful....with that said.
All I had in the frontcourt was Randolph, who was expiring and doesn't block shots so I don't understand why I go for a position of need when I lack a Center. Makes no sense. I grabbed GD after the trade was made.
No idea how the Heat automatically will be mediocre for a while when I have a nice young core and a top pick coming up and potentially another lotto. Last year was my first rebuild year. Remember I was projected 7th so Bynum and Young is better than what was expected any way you look at it.
The trade was never bottom 3 when I first made it. Thad's notes were nuts. If Thad became a A- C+ C A- C type player who could put up 20-22 a night, and Bynum comes out to be a 23-10 2.5 BPG guy a night I don't think I lose this trade. That is my thought process here.
I think I was the only GM who didn't care about Repoles actions after the trade and I was involved.
2. Who is your early favorite to win the BBS crown this year? Who is a darkhorse? Which team do you believe is vastly overrated? Underrated?
Nuggs. I really think Boston is slipping a bit. I keep harping on that and I keep believing it more and more. The most overrated team are the Nets. Greeme is worse than Goebbels and that propaganda machine when it comes to talking about his team. I like the CP3-Monta combo, but I'm not sure I see anything else especially with Chandler taking a big step back this year in terms of production. Underrated would have to be the Clips. How does this team keep winning? All I see is Wade. Maybe it's a product of being in the sucky West, but they are going toe to toe with the Nuggets at the moment.
3. Which player in the league is your favorite right now and why?
I mean I will always love Vince Carter and Shawn Marion. They were my first two picks in the creation draft and I took major flack for doing it. NOW WHO'S LAUGHING!?! Yeah I pumped a ton of ACs and RCs into each of them, but they are true and blue talents. I'm a pretty big fan of Kris Humphries, Rajon Rondo, and LaMarcus Aldridge. All three of them seem to do a couple of things really well. Humphries with the boards and blocks/steals; Rondo with the points and low TOs; and LMA with scoring and boards. That'd be a sick core three right there.
4. Which team looks to be set best for the future?
I think it's a toss up between the Pistons and Warriors. The Pistons got Durant and now will get another stud. Could you imagine Durant and Rose together. Repole has to be getting hard just thinking of it. If the Warriors make their CY this year then will be a powerhouse. They'll have Rondo, Horford, and max cap space moving into next year. If they get lucky it's like damn, maybe the Nuggets should rebuild?
5. Which team looks like it has no direction and needs to rebuild?
Can I say the entire West Conference outside of the Nuggets, Clippers, and Warriors? No? Harsh. GAME destroyed the Timberwolves. That horrible, horrible trade is going to set that franchise back quite a bit. With a CY reset for Nova, he should blow it up. In the East I'll say the Raptors. They have some really great players in Arenas, Rip, and AV, but DJ isn't around enough to put more pieces in place. If he's dedicated enough he should go through a rebuild.
6. Recently, there was controversy over Facebook and Phone Numbers among other social networking dillema's involving some BBS GM's? Details are still shady at this point in the investigation but individuals were fired. What is your take on the situation and do you believe that Spencer handled it in the best way possible?
I don't have all the facts, but from what I could gather GAME was having Svedda look up people's info online and posting it in other leagues. And then on top of that, GAME made a bi-league trade. I think those are both pretty lame things to do. I wasn't around when Svedda posted the "pictures" and he just seems like a bad person. Not sure why people join these leagues and then want to be dicks. Doesn't seem fun. GAME is GAME. The guy is illiterate and a pretty horrible GM as eveident by his bad trades. I'd say Spence made the right call. I like Styro and it seems like Nova will be active. The league is at an all-time high right now imvho.
7. Who is the most annoying GM in the league and why?
LOL hands down Greeme. He's like Skillz without the ability. He's like Marty without the cuteness. He's like Play without the Uggs. His trade offers are usually straight up rapes. His posts aren't funny. And he actually had the moxy to defende the trade with GAME. With all that said, we need a little annoying...
8. Who is your favorite GM and why?
I have a bunch actually... Nanz, Habes, Marty, Play, Broph. They all bring their own thing to the league. Nanz with the hotness; Habes with the funny; Marty with uhhhhh hmmmm shoot yeah he does something, but not sure what; Play with calling people out; and Broph with the analytics. I like everyone tbh. Can we all meet up and have like a picnic somewhere and talk trades? That'd be the apex of my life.
9. What is your favorite type of beer, liquor and wine?
Ummmm no comment? Not a huge beer drinker. Like almost never. If I have to it's like Blue Moon or something I can put fruit in. I'm a huge vodka tonic guy or vodka cran. Call me a bitch, I DONT CARE! I'm not civilized enough to drink wine, plus it makes me vomit in my mouth. I'm a huge Woodchuck fan! Give me some of that I'll be a happy little girl...
10. How many more threads does Marty have to put up for him to realize that we get the point that he doesn't have power?
Hahaha I don't want to make fun of this too much because Sandy was a total biotch when all is said and done, but it's like Marty we get it bro, you lost power!!! But seriously, I hope everything gets back to normal out there. I need to watch my Brook Nets!!
11. In you opinion what GM steps on the most toes. Give a prime example of this mans actions.
Most recently I think people were displeased with Repole dissing the Durant trade like he did. That was pretty mehhhh. Overall, I'd vote Greeme off the island. He doesn't do it a ton, but that's just where the league is at at this point. Prime example was the Timberwolves trade, again. He knew it was a rape. He should have offered to rework it. Kind of lame in that regard. Anyways, we're all friends and we love giving each other presents of the sexual kind. It's what we do.
12. Why are you the resident prick who doesn't give 5's on all articles? Do you ever feel like that since you don't give 5's that other GM's won't give you 5's as well?
Damn calling me out face to face, huh? I really thought Spence wanted us to keep it real with voting this time around. I thought wrong. I've given 5's every single time since I was set straight. On the flip side, I believe all of my articles deserve 5's. If I don't think it does then I won't post it. Some of these interviews are def on the borderline. BUT NOT THIS ONE!! I just hope there arent' some vindictive SOBs in this league... ahem Play?
13. Does every GM make it through their contract year this year? If not, are there any moves they can make to get through it?
I'm honestly on the fence on whether Jah and Marty will make it. Marty has the much easier route going through the West and the moves he just made should put him in a good position to knock CC out of that 8th seed. I wouldn't mind seeing Jah getting CY'd. He really doesn't bring much to the table outside of some draft modding. Plus I love adding new blood into the league. Makes things more energetic.
Marty probably needs to improve his bench a bit. It's pretty weak. And his rebounding is pretty bad now with Humphries gone. Jah could use a wing scorer. Wouldn't be awesome for him if he could put together a package for T-Mac? Won't happen because he's not active enough, but that would elevate him to championship contender.
14. Where does the name Erbes come from?
I'd be hesitant to answer this question with Svedda and GAME still around, but it's actually my last name. Weird right? German ftw.
15. Erbes you seem to be on the boards all the time. Explain to us what your job is and what you do on a daily basis?
I am an account executive for the Buffalo Bisons, the triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. Pretty much boils down to being a sales rep. I sell everything from sponsorship to groups to tickets. Just locked in Erie Community College for $10k yesterday!! YEEEEEE! Yeah but right now it's the offseason and dead. Once January hits I'll be more distant. And then once April hits it will be tough for me.
16. One word to describe every GM in your division.
Styro - bully / bane of my playoff existence
Ashes - aggressive / #kobeornothing
DJ - absent / MIA / Spencer's biotch
Jordan - missing / #whoareyou?

17 . If you went to a gunfight in the wild west which GM would you be most afraid of going against.
Is it racist to say I would bring Play because he's African American? Probably, so I won't. I will bring #haha #haberman. I say this because while he's blowing smoke up our opponents butt with semi-funny jokes I'd be able to sneak around and end them.
18. If every GM in the Midwest was an animal, which animal would they be?
Ugh this one is tough.
