Jazz trade:
Amare Stoudemire
Wang Zhi Zhi
Desmond Mason
Sheldon Williams
Hornets Trade:
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Carlos Boozer
Why Maniac does it: I can see it (and well, he said it). Simple 2 for 1. Amare, for all his skills(z) and talents just does not fit in well in Utah. Z/Boozer give them an actual front court/depth up front to play with.
Why Aar does it: The Hornets are not exactly tearing the league up. It was time for a change. The Hornets get younger and lose some long term money tied in Boozer (though that might become irrelevant if Amare wants a lot).
My thoughts: Really not a huge fan of the Z/Booz front court. It feels like the whole "Amare doesn't fit" issue will manifest itself with Z/Booz. Not sure what other players the Jazz were offered but I would've went for more D. Let Redd Baron go nuts. Don't take shots away from them. As for Hornets, I definitely like it for them. Short term it may not be a great move but it's definitely a long term move. Out of everyone traded, Amare has the most potential for stardom. Should be interesting to see how he works out.

TWolves Trade:
Marcus Camby
Knicks Trade:
Jason Kapono
Kurt Thomas
Lamond Murray
Shannon Brown
Why Minny does it: Camby's contract. I could end it there pretty much. Camby, as a player, is pretty damn solid. With some AC help, he could be one of the better defenders/rebounders in the league. Always valuable. That said, his contract is god awful and the Wolves had to move it.
Why Knicks do it: The Knicks front court was Gaduriz/Haywood/Fortson. It's not awful but it's not going to compete against the best of the best. Camby gives them someone that can help the biggest weaknesses of the Knicks.
My thoughts: Well, obviously I think it's a fair move for both. From my side, as I said before, I needed a front court upgrade. Camby allows me to not have to play Fortson who, while he is a great rebounder, can't do anything else. Camby gives me rebounders and blocks. He will be getting at least one AC so I expect his numbers to get better. For the Wolves, while yes maybe they could've gotten a pick, moving the contract as soon as possible was important and they did it. Barbosa should be next. I can see nova waiting on moving him though.
bbsfive.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=trades&action=display&thread=1647
Suns Trade:
Jamal Crawford
Rashard Lewis
Hornets Trade:
Jason Kidd
Jason Richardson
*sidenote* We are entering skillz trade flury section. I'll be looking at each deal individual though I will try to tie them up as much as possible at the end
Why for Suns: JC11 has been a major bust stats wise, he already started declining and has a major contract. The Suns were in desperate need of a PG and Kidd is still one of the best out there. Shard is good but it was time for a change and getting a PG was priority 1 for the Suns
Why for Hornets: A bit similar to the Jazz/Hornets deal here. Getting younger/future trade. aar is also hoping that JC's past TC and his current stats are past him and he can turn it around. Shard is not a #1 option player as is but he's definitly a great 2nd/3rd option type player.
My Opinions: It's a good deal for both. The Hornets are definitely looking towards the future and this will help them. A Amare/Shard core may or may not work out for them but it's definitely younger then when they started and that's always a good thing. The Suns, simply, needed a better PG and Kidd is one of the best.

Orl. sends
Morris Peterson
Martynas Andriuskevicius
to Dallas for
Linas Kleiza
Ha Seung-Jin
Pavel Podkolzin
(and if needed Lynch)
Why for Dallas: It's a needed deal. Kleiza is a solid bench player that any winning team can use but he's definitly one of the reasons why the Mavs keep winning. He needed to go and the Mavs finally did it.
Why for Orlando; Options. Kleiza is a player they can now plug into the bench spot MOP played. He's also signed for the next couple of seasons on a rookie deal.
My thoughts: It's a solid yet quiet move for both. More depth is always good and Orlando got it. Meanwhile, the Mavs needed to lose more and this should help. Simple.
bbsfive.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=trades&action=display&thread=1660
Dallas trades: Chris Kaman
Sea trades: In-Season MLE, 2008 Sea 2nd
Why for Dallas: A free 2nd? That's about it. Kaman wasn't playing so it's kind of whatever. Good to move him before he has to play though.
Why for Seattle: More up front help can't hurt at all
My opinion: It's a fine deal. Kaman is decent enough as a back up. He's a bit high on the turnovers though. I would've liked for Seattle to get back a PG somehow in a deal but it's hard to knock Marty right now. I'm sure he's trying.
bbsfive.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=trades&action=display&thread=1657
Suns Trade:
Kevin Garnett
Peja Stojakovic
Magic Trade:
Ben Gordon
Samuel Dalembert
Nazr Mohammed
Why for Orlando: Allowing the most rebounds per game is never good. They take away the 2nd best rebounder from the best rebounding team in the league should help that. KG is definitly an odd case. He has the sexy ratings but just doesn't dominate like he should. Maybe a change to sunny Orlando and playing next to another guy with sexy ratings will help.
Why for Suns; Style for substance. Gordon has struggled this season but there's no doubting how good he can be. Even if he doesn't turn it around, he will be skillz'd to death for an upgrade. The other important pick up was Samuel Dalembert. He's a decent enough rebounder but the 3.2 bpg is something every team can use,
My thoughts: Eh. Not really a huge fan of KG. Dwight gets a massive amount of hate but KG, to me, is the most disappointing player in the league. I see his ratings then his stats and I just expect way more. I definitely hope he turns it around in Orlando. On a random note, KG and LeBron on the same team? Odd. For the Suns, obviously, it s good move. No idea what kind of DC the Suns will use but I'm sure they will get the most out of BG. He has the potential and the talent to do it. Bert's 3+ bpg is always a welcomed addition.
bbsfive.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=trades&action=display&thread=1650
Pt 1:
Sixers Trade:
Ron Artest
Suns Trade:
Dwight Howard
Fabricio Oberto
Antonie Walker
Jannero Pargo
Pt 2:
Sixers Trade:
Theo Ratliff
Suns Trade:
Jarret Jack*
2 Aforementioned Vet FA's
Why for Suns: As was said, Ron Artest is one of the best in the league. He brings it on offense and defense. The other pick up in the deal was Theo Ratliff. The Suns add another 3+ shot blocker to the line up. From the looks of it, the Suns have D all over the line up and can definitely score.
Why for Sixers: The theme for this article I guess. Looking forward. It's like a damn Obama article. Anyways, Dwight gets shitted on a lot but he's legit on D and rebounds. Don't expect him to score a lot and don't expect it on great percentages. That said, he's still young. He has time to turn it around. Not sure what his RC/AC situation looks like but if he has anything left, go for it. Definitely hope he remains in Philly.
My thoughts: I prefer it for the Suns but I completely understand it for Philly. It's a damn good deal for them also. Not sure if they could've landed a better young stud then Dwight. They just need to hope he resigns. That's the scary issue for them now.
Guys that need to be traded:
In this part of the article I shall be posting a couple of guys that, quite frankly, need to be traded. Like, now. Also, where they should (or where I'd find it the most fun anyways) end up and the likely hood of it happening.
Tracy McGrady; San Antonio Spurs
Tracy McGrady SG 25 38.8 32.2 8.0 5.0 1.8 0.1 2.9 .471 .832 .416
My Opinion: Love T-Mac. He's been the man in San An since the league started but it's time for him to move. The Spurs seem to be looking more towards the future and the longer he remains with the Spurs, the lower his value may get. He's easily a top 5 SG, maybe number 2 but does anyone remember the guy? He's stuck in no mans land. Free him.
Where he should go: How about Seattle? Not sure if the Sonics have the pieces without having to move Kris but T-Mac can definitely carry that team to the playoffs.
Chances it happens: 10%. Tiger really doesn't appear in a rush to move him and he's in NYC right now. Sorry T-Mac
Jermaine O'Neal: Milwaukee Bucks
Jermaine O'Neal PF 22 35.9 27.7 13.2 3.4 1.4 2.5 2.4 .458 .730 .214
My opinion: Take what I said about T-Mac and switch his name for JO. Not that far off. The Bucks are struggling and JO is about to hit that age number that scares everyone off. The Bucks have there own picks from here on out. It's time to move on from the JO era.
Where he should go: Let's go for Portland on this one. I believe they are hitting there CY next season and they could use some help. A Aldridge/JO front court can definitely score. Not sure if they have the assets but it would definitely be a fun front court.
Chances of it happening: 25%. Jordan's around. Kinda. While the CY teams this year are pretty much set up front (Sonics) or don't have many assets (Wiz) the ones next year could definitely use JO. It might be a Ray Allen type situation but I think he is gone by this coming off season. By the end of the dead line though? Not to likely.
Gilbert Arenas: Toronto Raptors
Gilbert Arenas PG 24 38.3 25.7 6.7 4.7 1.8 0.3 2.5 .494 .816 .330
My Opinion: Save the man. He's obviously a big time scoring PG which does get a lot of love around here. Oh and it appears he still has his AC's? He can easily be turned into a 27-30 ppg scorer at the point. He doesn't turn it over a lot either (at the 2 anyways). What's not to love?
Where he should go: Golden State. Honestly, why not? I know they have Rondo but Gil is currently playing the 2 for Toronto. As a Warriors fan CC, bring Gil back home. Gil can easily step in and be the man for the Warriors. CC is active enough to write articles. Do it!
Chances of it happening: 1%. I'm saving the 1% for a dead line deal but I don't see anything happening this season. The Raptors were way better last year. DJ will likely ride it out in hopes of turning it around.
