Ice Seat with Pig
Yeeeee! Pig wanted to get chilly so I doused him with some ultra chilly questions! Please vote guys, we appreciate it. Plus, on the brightside this is going to be like the last Ice Seat ever! Question making kinda sucks.
1. Let's talk the Miami Heat to begin with. Not good enough to win and not bad enough to tank, what does the future hold for the Fuego? Do you see Iggy and Z-Bo as legitimate building blocks of the future?
I am really not wild about this team to be honest from a value stand point. This is really the hardest place for a GM to be where you have a 6-10 lotto team and youth that aren't progressing to your liking. It sucks, I dealt with the same kind of situation in Memphis in the last BBS. Lonely trade blocks are the worst . Are they solid players though? I think absolutley. Iggy especially has made leaps and bounds from the beginning of the season to now. GM's earlier were calling him a bust, and while he may never be an all-star caliber player I kept telling interested GM's that his production is due to the offense I was running at the time. I don't ever think I have seen a PPG spike over time in any BBS player ever like Iggy from day 1 till now. I guess while I am still stuck in this tanking purgatory I really just thought the value was kind of shitty for them during the course of the season. Thought it was better to milk them during the season and sell high later on, if at all.
2. You're going to have a lotto pick in this upcoming draft, probably in the 6-9 range, which players, without giving away your strategy of course, do you like at those spots? Are you going to draft based on needs or best player available?
Well I might have two lotto picks in this draft lol. I don't really follow the draft profiles until the season is over just for the fact I want access to all of Spencers answers to questions at once. I don't really know who the big prospects are outside of Horford, Durant and Gasol are right now. I think BPA is going to be really hard to distinguish at that point in the draft so it would probably most likely be need based. PF is probably the only position I won't touch with Zbo and Freeland. In a perfect world I would like to find a wing or a PG, the latter being more important.
3. True or false, the Miami Heat will win a championship in the next 5 seasons? Why or why not?
On the current track undoubtidly no. I just don't have a superstar piece or reallty have the assets, or the tank job to get it done as is. Barring some breakout player that we are all not expecting to flourish the only thing I might be able to transfer my youth for from a quality perspective is aging 33 year old vets. I mean there is always going to be this year and next years FA cap space, but I just cannot see me acquiring a nice superstar piece right now.
Please note that it really fucking blows that I became the GM of this team right after HF's pick dropped 3 spots due to activity. I would of taken Monta and instead got a waste of space with Montell. That might of changed up the game plan a little bit.
It also sucked I wasn't here for the fantasy draft. Some GM's have considered me the most succesful GM's ever at the beginning of leagues. We would of surely won a championship!
4. You and I are both apart of this so-called New Canaan Clique. What would your emotions be if one of our own, Habes, gets CY'd this season? Personally I'd be sad. And how long before he should get another team if he does get chopped?
What part of town did you grow up in? Habes isn't getting CY'd but I think it would totally be a blow to the league. When you think of BBS you think of Aaron Haberman. From his witty hashtags, to non-sensical rhetoric being spat in the YEE forum on a regular basis, Nasty Fred is one of the GM's that makes you think "Damn, I wonder who that Adderall guy is?" or "Does that guy purposely just put random words together in a sentence and see if they flow well?" The guy brought me into this league so I cannot knock on him.
However, guys with tenure should always skip noobs on the waiting list for future reference. Steady, active GM's from should always get first priority. Habes retirement would of been quicker than Game in the sack with his wife! (Sorry Mrs Game)
5. I've been kind of disappointed with the lack of social media integrated into BBS. What kind of role do you think Twitter, Facebook, etc. could have moving forward to make this a more enjoyful experience? Wouldn't it be sweet if Spence live tweeted at least the Championship series?
I have never heard any nerdier comment than "Wouldn't it be sweet if Spence live tweeted at least the Championship series." Like seriously WTF. While we are at it why doesn't Spence set up live video feed in his sim room so we can all watch it on YouTube. (That actually might be a good idea to gauge the credibility of Spence's "Jack" excuses for lack of BBS productivity )
Everyone GM who pretty muche uses FB is friends with me on there so I don't know how you are defining lack of social media, but the Twitter idea is absolutley retarded. I would never want BBS tweets above AngelPaganNews and below a critical ass shot of Bibi Jones ever in my life. #SocialMediaPariahProblems.
6. Not sure if you heard, but Greeme just dealt Kobe. Big news here. Give me your top 5 most untradeable players. This can be based off of skill, contract, age, etc.
No I didn't, it's well known that I always disappear during the weekends for BBS. Top 5 most untradeable players would probably have to come off of my roster because no one ever wants any of them. LeBron has to top that list though, he is just a stud in ever shape and form. I think Durant when he comes into the league is going to be on that list of well notes make him look like a stud and more.
Even though he is a PG with a turnover problem, Rondo just offers too much as an all around PG that I think should be pretty untradeable. Rare skill set and I love guards who can rebound and he will do it with the best of the league.
Yao would there be to with the all around combination of age and great skill set. Have to love Yao.
And last but not least, with a little shout out to the elderly you have to like Michael Redd's production. Guy is a straight up beast in every department. Arguably the best player in the league and for that aspect he is untradeable in my book.
7. There's been lots of chatter about how good the West is, especially Denver and Phoenix, but the East still has Boston, Indiana, Orlando, etc. Head to head, which conference is best right now? Do you think the better conference will take home the championship trophy this year?
Things are constantly shifting especially with GM's such as Broph and Skillz it's hard to properly gague things like that. I will give to the edge to the West but defintley at a smaller margin than others may deem.
Conferences should be graded not on individuals, but by the elite GM's. Elite GM's as noted in the East are Repole, Play with DJ and DBW as somewhat on the cusp. In the West you have Skillz and Broph with guys like Nanz and Insane (when he gives a shit) on the cusp over there. These are the guys, no matter what the year and no matter what is going on with GM Rankings I know that they are always better than me. Not saying I'm better than the rest, but everyone else gets lumped into the proverbial "You're not elite" group. However, I love how Spencer made the leagues this time around and I think both conferences will evenly play out over the year.
For FWIW I put my money on Broph. I think Skillz is ridiculously overrating his squad. Nuggets beat the Celtics in 6.
8. I'm not a huge wrestling fan, but I believe you are? Like WTF is going on with Cena?? And will The Rock/Stone Cold be coming back anytime soon?!?
Yes very huge. My cousin works for WWE as a graphic designer and my mother is good friends with Linda McMahon and recently held her political gala at our house.
However, I really can't watch this shit right now. The product going to PG is so damn bad for everyone involved except corporate raking in the cash. I don't know if the writers involved are neccisairly bad writers, or they just cannot provide solid material suited for a demographic of this nature. Hopefully, for the sake of the WWE, Linda loses to Murphy and we can get some racy shit back because it is heir apparent the whole move was for her political career to thrive.
The Be A Star campaign is also one of the most hypocritical "charitable" programs I have ever seen in my life. How the hell can anyone take it credible when your product is simulated fighting and you have CM Punk ripping a fan on Twitter every two hours? Like seriously you are going to tell litte Timmy not to make fun of anyone when the only reason he knows you in the first place is due to the fact he habitually watches you "bullying" other men every Monday. For those who don't really no the business enviroment of the WWE it is the most backwards shit ever. Tyranical bosses, lack of any job security and guys working in the front office who must of been hit over the side of the head with the steel chair too many times.
However, on a more positive note, the guys who are in developmental and some of the new additions look absolutley awesome. I find myself watching NXT (Developmental League) than the actual WWE. Of course the company will misuse these guys, and market steroid monsters rather than superb technical wrestlers and mic skills but at least there are reasons to be optimistic for guys like Antonio Cesaro, Damien Sandow, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.
Cena in my book is atrocious, but most in part is due to the demographic being PG. He can only do so much and he really REALLY needs to be repackaged. Rock should be coming back for one of his 5-10 dates on his contract fairly soon and Stone Cold, in this mans opinion won't ever wrestle again due to injuries.
9. Another hot topic, that seems to be covered in every single interview-type article, is draft questions. Whether you agree with the way Spence does it now or not, give me a better solution. Should we be doing some award system where we can find out ratings, potential, etc. using posts or cash system to pay for them?
Yes without question. Like in what real world situation do you not know how well a guy can jump, how strong he is, etc etc. I have always been a staunch supporter of knowing every single rating for every player. Although Spence and others have clearly hated idea I think there is a way to reach a middle ground between guys like me and guys who are curious about the secret ratings. It's kind of a pain in the ass to not know vital ratings for players that are known in real life. I hate the ambuigity of player strength due to attribute abilities we should possess. I believe there is a solution to every thing if we have an open forum on the matter.
10. Kill, marry, fuckkkk time!!! Here are your GMs... Erbes, GAME, Nanz, Habes, Broph, Play, Greeme. Solid bunch of guys if you get my drift.
This is the worst selection of GM's to play this game with BTW.
Marrying Broph because he is probably the only one with his head tied on straight out of these cast of characters. He also pays good attention to details and I need that in a spouse.
I'll bang Play because I really want to get my "black belt" sometime soon and even though I don't swing for the other team beggars can't be choosers I suppose.
I'm taking out Nanz because he's just one more guy with a better body than me and I need all the help I can get with my pimp stick.
11. Pretty sure you're an Ole Miss fan? The Rebels are sitting at 4-3 overall, two wins shy of being bowl eligible. Not a ton of easy games left (ARK, UGA, Vandy, LSU, Miss State), do they make it to the postseason? Any big time studs coming to campus next season?
Yeah I am so stoked. Hugh Freeze has helped this program out incredibly, not to mention he is an amazing recruiter. To answer the question I believe we do. I think we take out Arkansas and Vandy. I think, and this sounds crazy, we can potentially beat every team left on the schedule. We should of beat A&M. We somewhat hung close with Alabama. We won't beat UGA, LSU and State, but I really wouldn't be shocked if we took out one of them.
Word on the street is Robert Nkimidiche (Number 1 recruit in the country) is leaning more and more from defecting from Clemson to play with his brother Denzel at Ole Miss. That would be absolutley awesome. Freeze is bringing in some solid guys though, but you get a lot of nobodys come into this school and become awesome. Look at Patrick Wills who was a 3 star recruit. Look at guys like Mike Wallace who is absolutley studly. Look at undrafted RB Ben Jarvus Green Ellis and now Brandon Boldin who is following his lead in New England. Jeff Scott might be the best RB in the country you never heard of. I am really excited and overly optimistic for the future. Bo Wallace just needs to get a haircut now.
12. Where the hell did the name Pig come from? And why do so many people like using animals as their board name? Do you guys have some furry addiction?
The name Pig came when I was in 6th grade. I was at basketball practice and I wore a shirt that was just covered in dirt and trash. I was coined the name Pigpen after the character from the peanuts. 12 years later, that damn nickname still sticks with me. Really strange. I wonder how my life would shape out if I missed practice that day, or rather had a better sense of style.
13. I like this question... describe all of your division GMs in a couple of words. I want this to be like a steel cage death match, no holding back!
DBW - A lavashing young chap.
Greeme - Enigmatic, eccentric geezer who has a pallet for fine Israeli cooking
Play - A hybrid combination of Jesse Jackson and a 19 year old southern sorority girl
Andy - An astute adult entertainment afecienado who is smart enough to know that when it says "College Girls" that they are 25 year old high school drop outs
Jah - If I wasn't friends with Jah of FB I would swear that he didn't exist.
Habes - Likes jokes and the New York Knicks. Blocked me on twitter because he is too sensitive with jokes. Swears that if we went to war with Iran, Mitt Romney's first wave of attack would consist of playwrights who do mock civil war battles. Bayonet's included.
14. Not sure if you're in any other leagues, but BBS is far and away the best I'm in. What do you think makes BBS so special?
Easily the comittment that Spencer puts into the league would unquestionably at the front. The league is also a fraternity of sorts as well which also makes in stronger. We've been a long the longest, the competition is the highest because we have seen everything. BBS GM's understand FBB better than anyone else.
15. Last, but not least if you could trade rosters with any other team in the league, which team would you choose and why?
Erbes really needs to work on question placement. This is seriously the last question? Give me the Bulls and Ashes CY years and I will be very content.
YEEEEEE! Settle down Pig! Way to be! Votes please! @jerbils!
