Obviously this was the most boring trade deadline in the history of BBS. I'm going to look at some teams that should've been buyers and sellers not only during the deadline but through the season period.
Sellers:
Minnesota Timberwolves
Slightly different reasons but both Amir and Blair should've been moved. The Wolves are in tank mode and while yes Amir is a stud and yes you don't want to just give guys away, it's hard to tank when a guy keeps dropping 40 on a consistent basis. On the other side of things, this might be the highest value Blair may have. His contract is long, he hasn't done a ton during TC lately and his value around the boards are going down. If they were on separate teams, maybe it wouldn't be a big deal but together? It would definitely be hard to get a good lotto pick with these guys together. One (both really) should've been moved ASAP. I hope the waiting was worth it. It definitely cost them some draft spots this season.
Los Angeles Clippers
The signing was weird but I couldn't have been alone in thinking that it was a sign and trade. Nope. Clippers kept him and here we are. BD really didn't have a bad season but he fell fairly hard during TC and next year he'll just have value as an expiring. Not bad really but alone BD and his 14 Mil contract will be just that and the memory of a highly wasted season by LA. The Clippers roster is fairly young and could've easily tanked for at least another season. Again, potentially another wasted season here.
Utah Jazz
Utah has some talent but it obviously hasn't worked out this season. With guys getting older (and in T-Mac's case, closer to retirement) it was time to cash in on that value. TMac and Gordon could've definitely gotten some solid value for Utah. With the Jazz recent luck in retaining PG's (losing Westbrook and BD in back to back seasons) they might as well have placed Lin on the block as well. That said, maybe 3rd times the charm and a PG will actually stay in Utah.
Indiana Pacers
They did try to make a move in which they traded CP3 for Arenas/Green. Not terrible really and it produced a solid run at first but they went right back to mediocre quick. The biggest difference between the Pacers then and now is value overall. CP3 still does carry value around the league. Arenas and Green, not so much and they don't have a ton of room for improvement. I think the Pacers should've went after there own picks. It's going to be a massive, up hill climb for Erbes from here till 2018.
Cleveland Cavaliers
That roster does not look bad really but the win/loss record obviously does not match up with the roster. I think they should've tried there hardest to get as many of there picks as possible. If next season mimics this season then it's going to be tough to make any moves to go after said picks, no matter how good Melo is. Darko's still a very good big but people are slowly starting to forget about him, he's close to hitting 30 which means his value will drop 50% and his contract is fairly big. Cavs should start selling, like, yesterday.
Buyers:
Boston Celtics
The Celtics look great definitely. 2nd best record in the East. There front court is great. Nash is solid at the point but the 2 guard spot is fairly empty. The Celtics are obviously good and will obviously make some noise in the playoffs but I don't see there front court being good enough to carry them with that big, gaping Ava Devine hole at the 2. Lester Hudson, JJ Redick and Tony Allen. Not all that good. I expect this issue to be corrected in the off season but for this season, it's going to be a tough playoff run.
New York Knicks
Bron, Yao and Wade. We all know the big 3. With a big 3 that good, you expect the rest of the roster to be a bit weak but the Knicks should've tried a bit harder to improve the bench at least. Armstrong/Griffin/Turiaf/Diaz/Hinrich aren't horrible but they could do far better then that. There was definitely some talent out there to be had. Nobody currently on that bench really looks or plays that great. The Knicks also had a potential lotto pick to use as bait. No real excuse for not getting a better bench player.
Denver Nuggets
Sure, the Nuggets have a fairly great back court but they need more then that to go far in the playoffs. Seriously, the SF position is fairly bad. They've started 4 different guys there and I honestly can't tell who starts now without cheating (apparently it's Henderson right now). Rose and Roy are going to be a great back court for the next couple of seasons obviously but they won't go far without making moves to improve the rest of the team.
San Antonio Spurs
They obviously have talent. You don't win 50 games without talent but Bynum aside, I don't see anyone that stands out. I feel like they should've tried to get a player that can work perfectly with Bynum and give them a scary 2nd option going into the playoffs. The Spurs obviously should not be rushing things as they have a fairly young core so I can that as being a reason why they weren't rushing to make a move but a 2nd star would've given this team a massive punch against the big boys in the West.
Detroit Pistons
56 wins but meh. They've had pretty much the same roster for the last couple of seasons and it hasn't gotten them anywhere lately. They need a better bench, especially up front. They need another star player to be besides Durant/Cenk. They aren't old or about to leave DET but it's time for repole to decide what he wants to do or tear it up unless he wants to sit on a 50 win/2nd rd exit team. Not a horrible choice, Jah made this his career choice for his BBS tenure but still boring.
