1. Is this the best team you've ever compiled? Why Why not?
No, simply because it hasn't won a title. I guess I can say it's the most fun team I've ever had or the most star powered team I've ever had but eh. Not the best. Still all that said, I'm definitely having fun seeing these guys playing together. On any given game against any team in the league, Wade and LeBron can score 80 on ridiculous shooting percentages, add about 6-8 rebounds each and 4-7 assists each. That's not even including Yao. The star power is obviously there and while it may not lead me to a title, sadly, it's fun as hell to see.
...I think this is the best team hes had in awhile. I think Andy has had some real bad luck in the last couple versions and the fact that hes put together so much top tier talent shows maybe his luck has changed.
2. Are you looking to trade one of your stars to find guys that "fit" better? What would you want if you did?
Eh. I've had trade offers for all 3 and almost came to agreements on 2 of them but at the end of the day they just didn't work out. Obviously depth is the big thing I should be getting. Maybe a better PG and/or PF but I'm not going to deal my big 3 just because. As I said in the prior question, I'm enjoying watching the team play. Llull is definitely playing better then last season and he'll obviously be AC'd. Same with Tyler/Granger later on in the season. I'm obviously not done doing stuff. Expect a move. Maybe not with the big 3 but yeah. There will be a trade.
...Id probably lean towards dealing Wade first.I think depth is important, and while Llull is solid you could use an upgrade at PG as well. Hard to win when all your assets are tied up in 3 players.
3. What are your long range plans with this team?
I'm not rushing to rebuild. I'd like to keep some winning going until 2017 when I have my own picks. I might be interested in moving Yao and Wade sooner rather then later but these guys won't be declining anytime soon. Hell, Wade keeps getting better and better. My biggest worries are Llull and Hansbrough. Llull declined last TC so yeah, he needs to cut that out. Hansbrough needs to be resigned obviously. To me, as long as I have these 3 and full them with the right role players, I should be ok until 2017.
...Ride it out. I think this team can compete for a title every year until 2017. Maybe trade Wade and Yao for younger guys in a couple years but dont rebuild fully until 2017. Too much talent not to try and win.
4. How has Chris done this far as commish?
He's done very good. I can't really complain much, if at all, about his decisions or what he's done. I'm not sure if he has commished before but it's tough to just come in and run a league like this after the job Spencer did for all those years. It's a lot of pressure to do things as well as Spencer did. For some reason, even the sim schedule became a problem at one point which was weird. I don't see why people were complaining as much as they did early on. He's doing great. Thanks Marty.
...I think weve learned that people like to complain. Its in their nature, so even something as simple as a slight change in sim schedule will invoke the wrath of the masses. MORONS!
5. What do you think of Brophs drafts thus far?
I haven't payed a ton of attention to them, at least as far as the normal players go, but I do like the slightly random uniqueness of them. We've had 2 guys that aren't PG's that can play PG, one guy that has no notes and you have to pay for notes and two brothers have will have rating changes after TC if drafted together. Stuff like that makes the league more fun and interesting to see how these unique players and situations get used by the guys that draft them. Can't wait to see what comes up this season.
...Broph is doing some fun stuff. I definately wish I had paid more atyention to the drafts near the end, just didn't have the time. Fun drafts lead to a fun entertaining league.
6. Change one thing about BBS? Why?
I would love to see the hall of fame actually work out. I know it's a bit random and out there but it would be interesting to see how it would be done and see how past guys played. I was actually working on an article about this but meh, to much work for me right now. Besides the HOF, there isn't much I have to complain about. The HC going up to 80 would be nice but that's likely my ODC just acting up.
...I loved what ilovebball and I was doing before I had to give up being commish. The in game numbers are a little off, so editing them actually worked out really well. If I ever do BBS6 I will use that same system.
7. What was your favorite version of any league youve been in? Why?
I liked NBN, I think the 2nd version.I won a few titles there so that's obviously fun. I also liked the GM's there and Will was very consistent with his simming. There was also plenty of retarded fuckery (Will's girlfriend thing, ScottCarter and I'm sure other things I can't remember right now). I also liked last BBS. How can I forget Based Derrick. I will say that winning that championship might have been my favorite I've ever won. Sadly I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I would've since I was on the train during the run but still. I definitely enjoyed it overall. I'll go with those 2.
...NBN is the holy grail for tons of GMs. It was an amazing league with not only great personalities but also a commish that really knew the ins and outs of ratings. He not only made very interesting players but he also developed unique scenarios.
8. Name 3 GMs that youve played FBB with in the past that youd like in BBS now.
KG. I liked GMing with/against him. Always fun stuff.
Tiger. I like Tiger. Good guy to talk to. He's CC like (but better), without the quitting to play COD. Would be nice to see him return eventually if he could.
Maniac. I know, I know he's been here about 10 times already but I want an active Manic.
I think all of these guys would do good here, again, if active. I also would love to see some added fuckery around here.
...I agree with all 3. Love them all and always wish they had time for BBS. When they do they are great additions. KG never had much success in BBS but I still liked him. I might add James in here somewhere.
9. The new FBB is around the corner, will you seek out a league that uses it if BBS doesnt move over to it?
No. I wouldn't mind playing it myself but I won't be looking for a league that plays it. I barley have the time for this league as is. A 2nd league would be horrible for me. Also, I just have no desire to enter another league period. I know the guys here, the rules and all that shit here. I don't want to completely restart myself when I enter another league. I'm good. It would be nice if BBS used the new FBB eventually but no rush there either I'm sure.
...I agree. I love the idea of a new game, but I dont love the idea of relearning something. I like BBS and sim league in general because its a known. Its comfortable. I like that about it. It feels like home.
10. You are a long time FBBer. How long do you plan on participating? Why do you still do it?
Yeah, it's been years. It's really just a hobby now. I mean, it was also a hobby but eh, I always took it pretty seriously. Now a days it's like, yeah, it's interesting and stuff but whatever. It's a side thing I do to escape for a bit. It's also kind of why I write articles. I do enjoy writing and sometimes I do get in those moods to write, I hate writing the same ol shit so I do enjoy writing some different type of articles. As far as how long, who knows. Maybe another yr? 2? I don't know. I guess I'm done when I get fired/quit BBS or if BBS ever shuts down. I don't see myself having the desire to randomly try to search for another league.
...I still love it, but I get your sentiments. I probably would move solely to baseball sims if BBS shuts down. FBB leagues do desire a kind of manic participation that OOTP leagues dont need. I feel like if BBS shuts down Id cool it off leagues entirely.
11. The Knicks are finally good in real life. Its amazing! Give me your 2 cents on your team!
They just lost to the Wizards in a rather depressing game. The Knicks are very good, they just have a really horrible tendency to stop giving a shit during games and stop playing D. This is exactly what happened against the Wiz. We came back and were up by 3 to end the 3rd. Then we get out scored by 13 in the 4th. Trevor fucking Ariza hits 5 3's. Ariza. Why? Because he was wide open everytime. Play some D you jack asses. I believe the Knicks can give the Heat all they can handle in a playoff series. That's one team the Knicks will not play down to, Carmelo especially. I just hope Sheed is able to come back. If not, we need to sign KMart. Hell, sign him anyways. Dunno why we haven't.
...Always fun when a team like the Knicks is good. Melo seems happy and has had a great year. someone like KMart would be huge. Cant stand Sheed. Hes done. Go get KMart.
12. Who wins the BBS title this year? Who represents each conference? Why?
Ok, I'm going to try to go with the slightly less then norm. in the East, I say Indy. I think they have enough talent to be able to fight out of the East. With the East being as strong as it currently is, there isn't a easy match up for anyone. The Hawks have been fairly inconsistent on D and that can definitely hold them down in the playoffs if it remains. In the West, I guess I'll go with Houston despite my hatred of Dwight. Rockets appear to have enough talent to hide or at least deal with any of Dwight's weaknesses. I really liked Portland but meh, they broke that up pretty quickly. Phoenix is another team that has some good talent and can make noise, especially with the HOF potential duo of Marvin Williams and Alando Tucker. So yeah, between the Rockets and Pacers, I give it to the Rockets so congrats, I just jinxed you.
...Ya, I gave up too soon. Probably would've had a decent shot this year. Ah well. IM going Phoenix and Atlanta. Could go lots of different ways though.
