barnes gets at the basket better without the ball, Waiters loves to flail out of control and throw something up he hopes goes in, got it

7% of shots inside assisted is a little crazy, wtf cut to the basket occasionally dude
Barnes is playing smart, even on a Playoff team (and lol at the Warriors being a playoff team and he not being asked to do everything, its the Warriors for fucks sake)

Waiters has been missing some shots he can make to start out, it'll even out over the season..more than a few times he's been fouled but doesn't get the call, but that's to be expected at this point. He can hit about 39-40% for the season I'm sure which isn't that bad for a rook, not everybody is Kyrie.

Tristan isn't a good passer, Gee is awk bad, Varejao is ok. He's mostly running the offense lately as well so hard to give yourself an assist. Warriors are a playoff team right now and Barnes is clearly the third or 4th option...

39-40% is pretty bad when you're not an elite three point shooter and/or getting to the line, rookie or not. You can say rookies don't get calls or whatever, but he didn't get to the line much in college either, nor did he finish all that well at the basket.

My biggest issue with Waiters remains that he needs the ball to be useful. He doesn't profile as a guy who's going to thrive off the ball, in which case, why does a team with Kyrie Irving take him?
Again, by no means am I closing the book on Waiters or anything like that. He may well be a fine player, but he's an iffy fit with Irving and wasn't a huge upside pick. If the Cavs wanted a sure thing, they should have gone Barnes. If they wanted upside, they should have gone Drummond.
