First off, I really want to thank John for all of his hard work on this league. He stepped up when nobody else was willing to and has done an exemplary job while focussing on his studies. Also to Marty who has stepped up and helped as well.
However, this needs to be said. Activity has been horrid lately.
There are 5-7 GMs that are on frequently and checking in. The others are either nowhere to be found or going through the motions.
The big question is... What can we do to a) increase activity, b) get new GMs for stagnant or vacant teams and c) get people excited about this league again.
Some ideas:
1) Restart - either with current or retro rosters
2) Dispersal draft with current players
3) Massive recruiting of new GMs
4) Evaluation of the current league, filling GM vacancies and infusing some more life into the league.
The biggest issue, in my mind, is that there just aren't as many people interested in sims as there used to be. Either this or new GMs are having trouble adapting to a mostly fictional league. It's also summer and people (like myself) are on vacation and disinterested.
What are everyone's thoughts? I love BBS and sims in general and hate seeing what BBS has become lately.

I was gonna hold off posting something like this for a few days.
Something needs to happen, everyone join UOSL, or a restart, or something.
I just don't think it's that easy to get new GMs with fictional players, might be a cop out but yeah. The no simming for a week while I was on vacation was a dent too, but nothing I could have done about that.

I think a UOSL merger would be the best with Broph and John simming. There's enough good GMs to create a really active league.
Don't know what era or whatever...
I think my favorite option would be to rejuvenate this league somehow. Just don't know how, because we're in a deep hole.

I have no where near the interest level to do two leagues right now. I was just away for three weeks, and it's been hard to get interested again. That being said, I'll try to pick it up over the next few weeks.

This file is almost too great to scrap, but i dont see how to make it work. Maybe a UOSL/BBS merger/restart league. If UOSL is thriving in comparison than BBS, then BBS is dead cause UOSL was an insanely inactive league for the better part of ny time there

If they come together, we'll have the gm base filled and john and broph can split up the simming and file-making fairly easy. Leave one to sim the season, one to make files and run fa/tc

I'm not sure if broph is looking to restart or just absorb BBS's GMs, I think it's the latter.

Not going to lie, I lost interest. If other GM's were active, I would be more active. I don't get any PM's, so I have to send them and most of the time they are ignored.
I don't think I would join a restart right away either. I'm simming my league, and have teams in 3 other leagues including this one.

Try posting a simming schedule.
That would help imo.

Well since this was brought up now is there really a reason to sim now?
I'll go ahead and sim like 5-6 seasons and upload the index of each

Let's not kid ourselves: BBS was going nowhere currently.
Teams that are functionally open: Celtics Heat (said he was busy but would be back in about a month, asked if I would watch his team) Nets Wizards
Bulls Pacers Bucks
Timberwolves Warriors

Keep this going, this League IMO was the best Ive seen around. I'll take a team if you want and I can try and get some GMs in. Maybe start getting some retro draft files in? Like mid 70's?

Think ashes is switching to FBB3 anyway so I don't know how that will sit with GMs

Hate to see BBS die.
I want to say thanks to John first off, and Martinez. I know being commish is a thankless job, and John this is no offense but to be honest I think the erratic sim sced has hurt quite a bit.
If you're able to sim regularly I think it will pick up, if not that may just be it for old BBS sad as it is.

would really suck if this ends. activity was pretty good couple months ago.
just keep simming til the end of the year, probably activity will pickup due to the draft and activity will pickup as summer comes to an end. get some usol guys or whichever sim leagues your part of.
