MVP: Quincy Acy
Back to back mvp awards. Pretty much singlehandedly led the hornets to 60 wins. 25 ppg on 52% from the field and 92% from the line. He blocks and steals. He takes care of the ball and hits the boards. Just an all around dominant player. Cenk sometimes gets overlooked being on a team with Durant but he is a great player. 5.7 rebounds from a pg is sick. 1.3 tos from a pg is likewise. Also add 28 ppg and 1.7 stls. Great player. Just not as good as Acy.
Other players receiving votes: cenk ayokol- 1, Kyle Lowry -1.
DPOTY: Quincy Acy
The vote was split this year. Bigs usually dominate this award so it was nice to see a non-big win. 2.1 bpg and 1.4 spg are hard to ignore but the truth is that they pale in comparison to noel's numbers or lma's numbers so I'm guessing that people were just sick of voting for bigs.
Other players receiving votes: Andrew Bogut – 1, Ricky Rubio – 1, Eric Bledsoe -1, Andrew Bynum-1.
6th man of the year: Andre Iguodala
Why not have a best 7th man award? Or a best 4th man?
Other players receiving votes: ,Jason Thompson-2, Pau Gasol-1, Marvin Williams -1.
ROTY: Nerlens Noel
Wow. Nobody thought that he would be this good. 3.5 bpg and 1.5 spg. Add that to 18.4 ppg and 9.8 rpg and you have the roty. Also a future dpoty. Percentages need work as do the tos but his pot and ac/rcs should help out. Murphy looked good, mostly bc of his miniscule 1.2 topg but any pg that can't hit a three will be hard pressed to be a top pg.
Other players receiving votes: Jimmy Murphy - 2
Gmoty: aar.
Aar put the right players around acy. Blair and Franklin fit in well. That was enough for 60 wins and a team that should compete for years. Especially now that Acy resigned cheap. I still think that they are a piece away but i'm sure that aar is working the phones.
Other gms receiving votes: dbw - 1
All star teams (points in parentheses – maximum points is 21)
Sg might be the weakest position currently. Butler isn't bad but I don't think that he is near the dominant sgs that we had in the past such as Kobe and Tmac.
Lma keeps getting better as he gets older. 29 ppg, 11 rpg, 3 bpg and 1.5 spg. Kobe spiking the water in Memphis.
