The program is Asian Studies, but it's pretty much find something you are interested in and right a thesis. Asian Studies is the only social sciences program that is fully in English. My focus revolves around the political development of Taiwan.

that sounds pretty cool. Why Taiwan? I was here to begin with, but Taiwan has one of the most unique political situations in the world, and is going to be pretty important pretty soon. China really wants to island back, but so far they've (Taiwan) had the backing of the US. East Asia is incredibly interesting, and Korea/Taiwan/Singapore have all undergone similar transitions to democratic governments. It's a hell of a case study on how to correctly and relatively peacefully transition from an authoritarian regime to democracy.

They currently have a two party system, but the dominant party is the KMT which basically fled China when the PRC came to power. As of right now both China and Taiwan agree that there is one Chinese state, but both the PRC (China) and ROC (Taiwan) believe they are the legitimate governments of the state.
