35. Milan Macvan C 24 6'9'' 260 B- A C- C B+ C
Who said you can't make a good outside oriented big? Not an elite scorer by any means, but solid enough and has some room to grow if he gets his other 2 ACs, which he should if bundy decides to trade him. C defense but when you're averaging 4 BPG as a big that doesn't really matter. Gets aided in value by his youth, in the right offense I could easily see him being a 20 PPG scorer with camps, pretty great big...HEY SPENCE THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE OUTSIDE BIGS
34. Dwyane Wade SG 32 6'4'' 210 A B A- A- C D
I think Wade is extremely underrated here. I discussed a deal with andy about possibly getting Wade and I feel that he is worth a lot more than the possible deal we discussed (although he was getting his pick back). Probably oee of the players you look at and think "THANK GOD FOR THE PG RULE". Definite stud. Age is a concern going forward especially with such a large contract, still an elite SG and should be for the next few years.
33. Carmelo Anthony SF 30 6'8'' 220 B+ A+ C- B B- C
I initially had Melo a little higher, he is still an amazing player, but the expiring contract plus the utter saturation I found at SG/SF makes it hard for me to justify having him higher. Still an amazing player, look at those %s. >50% FG, 90% FT, only draw back is turnovers, but you'll take it with the volume. Also a huge fan of B- rebounding SFs. What might be indicative of a little higher true value, was recently dealt for Nate Templeton who some GMs are drooling over.
32. Nerlens Noel PF 20 6'11'' 225 B D+ C- B+ B- A
There were some questions whether Noel would be anything other than an ok defensive player. I thought he looked like Fab Melo with better potential, but apparently his offense is miles ahead of where anyone expected, yeah his stats are inflated but it always nice to see a rookie big capable of 20+ PPG even if the team as a whole is averaging <90. Noel could really benefit from some ACs, if he got them he could have a nice foundation to build upon in future TCs. Maybe a little high but I like his game, in the future in a "normal setting" on a good team I could see him being a 16/11/4/1.5 type big.
31. Shawn Marion SF 36 6'7'' 215 A- A- C+ A C+ C
Shocked myself that I have Marion this high at 36, but he is still an absolute stud. Still a 2 SPG, 8 RPG player. Looks like his scoring might be taking a slight dip, and obviously his production will decline with each subsequent season, but he is sooo soo good. Pretty much the perfect SF, sad day when he retires.
30. Kyrie Irving PG 22 6'2'' 180 B- A B+ B- C- A
Will he be able to shake the bust label? His ratings look good and he has seemingly bounced back nicely from a slow start, but those turnovers are a huge, huge issue, no matter how much room he may have left to grow. I'm not sure if he'll get his camps in Milwaukee, but he desperately needs a +5 in handling and then a progression. Any PG that averages >3, much less 4, TPG is really hindered as far as value goes. Will get a max this offseason either from MIL or someone else, and his value will either be maintained or plummet, as well, a 4 TPG PG on a max contract certainly isn't top 30 value.
29. Meyers Leonard PF 22 7'0'' 245 A- C D- A- B C
Meh, WTF? I always thought Meyers Leonard had a chance to be a pretty good one dimensional big, with good handling/a great jumpshot, but I guess I never really thought he'd be an elite inside scorer. Still think he has a ways to go on the glass no matter what his rating is there. Definitely has basically went from not even on the rader to a top 30 value player in the matter of an offseason. Once again a product of fortuitous TCs as well as getting your ACs. LET'S ALL WRITE ARTICLES!
28. Andrew Wiggins SF 19 6'7'' 200 B B- C B C A
Biggest question mark that will probably show up on these rankings. Looks to possibly be a stud, but who knows? #1 pick in the last draft and his notes say he should be a stud, not much else to say other than he still looks kinda raw based on his stats this season. Probably needs to raise his inside to A- for it to be truly effective due to high athleticism.
27. Josh Selby PG 23 6'3'' 195 B A- A- B+ D B
Hard to deny his talent, especially being listed as a PG helps pad his value as well. Huge concern, and the likely limiting factor: is he a PG or a SG? Had this same question about a guy we'll see later (John Wall), but at least if you HAD to play Wall at SG, he gave you around 1 BPG and wasn't a liability at rebounding. But yeah, Selby can't rebound. He'll be max'd, which of course he should if he's on this list, but you have to hope he can control his turnovers to the point that he can be a PG in the future, because if he is he could be deadly.
26. Tibor Pleis C 24 7'1'' 235 C+ B C A B+ C
The best defensive big in the league, hands down. Averages around 4 BPG and 2 SPG, shoots AMAZING percentages as a big, and is a near elite rebounder, if not elite. Really wanted him to be at 25, but he will likely never be an elite scorer, but yeah. If you have the assets and need an elite defensive big Pleis should be your first inquiry, because he is simply the best.
25. Da'Sean Butler SG 26 6'7'' 225 B+ A- C- C+ C+ C
When making this list I thought he wouldn't make it this far. I initially thought he would end up around 30-35, but after looking at his efficiency / handling ability I couldn't help but to bump him up a little. His contract is also an absolute steal, and still has three years left on it. Also a solid stats defender, 2+ SPG+BPG, but hey, he isn't Dante Cunningham! Looks like a younger version of Melo, with better handling. So if I think Melo is around 35, gotta put Butler around 25.
24. Jimmy Murphy PG 22 5'10'' 175 C C A+ C+ D A
Murphayyyy. Ya, I thought he wouldn't make a big dent in the league, but it turns out falling to 6th was a huge steal for LA. Definitely a top caliber PG for 12+ years, because he won't turn it over and shoots great from FT/mid range. Obviously has no 3PT shot as of now, and he has a country mile to go as far as offense, but the true PG skills are there, as far as FBB goes. Also looks to have ok ability on the defensive end as far as steals. Interesting to see what he ends up developing into. Is he Royal Ivey v2, or better?
23. Deron Williams PG 30 6'3'' 210 B+ B+ A+ A- C- D
Crazy how similar Deron looks to the next PG on the list: Chris Paul. Actually I didn't have them so close at first glance, but decided that they need to be pretty close as far as value. Deron is still a stud, great scorer, takes care of the ball, decent defender. Not much else to say other than he is a great PG in a tough PG market.
22. Chris Paul PG 29 6'0'' 175 B A- B A- C- C
I knew at whatever slot I thought Deron was in, Paul would be one slot higher. Both are capable of the same numbers pretty much, have almost identical current contracts. Only difference is really Paul is a year younger.
21. Nate Templeton C 22 6'8'' 285 C A- A- C A- A
In this case, perception is reality. The highest rookie on the list, many GMs have gushed at the thought of acquiring Templeton and camping him early and letting TC do the rest. Already an elite rebounder and a great FT shooter, Templeton was recently traded for Carmelo. I think in order to maintain his value he needs his camps, will he get those in Cleveland? Probably not, but who knows. His ceiling may be limited due to lack of stats defense, that could be a major downfall in his development/value, but ya intriguing ratings + already an elite rebounder means Templeton holds a lot of value in the league with several GMs. Apparently LMA was discussed in some capacity, but we all know kobe was probably trying to get in that ass.
