why do you think it takes a great player so long to win it? the coach he has. think if Phil Jackson never came to the Lakers that Kobe and Shaq would find a way to co-exist for 3 rings? not at all. Without a great coach the player wouldn't mature the right way, true definition of becoming better

you'll never know because you can't go back in time and put a player on a different path to find out you can look at great players who don't have rings. Charles Barkley for example, name the coach if you remember him at all?

whatever he's doing he should have known to send a list if he was going to be busy. He was here during the finals...

coaches dont make players work hard or develop skills... that is on the player. All coaches can do is try and put players into a system that enhances strengths/hides weaknesses or exploits match ups. A great player is great because they have the talent and desire to be that.

Without Phil Jackson, Kobe would still be wild. You know that wild player that would just up shots whenever he got the ball? Phil groomed him into the player he is. Did the same with Michael when he was dropping 40 point, 50 point, 60 point games. These players have other things that make them great, but without the right coach they dont mature well enough. Talent is one thing, coaching is another. If there was no use for coaches there wouldn't be any. The outcome was greatness and a lot of credit goes to the players, but the coaches serve a part in that
