1. Your 23-32.Obviously your looking to land a lotto pick and you are heading there butoverall are you disappointed with how things are going due to not losingenough? What are your plans for this team heading forward?
Amir is just too damn good. It’s tough to lose with someone capable of putting up 40/15 any night. Heis on the block, but I’ve only received a handful of offers for him and even fewer that were worth looking at. I negotiating a couple of deals right now,but we obviously haven’t come to an agreement yet. I’m still looking to move Blair and Bledsoe is also available. Bledsoe is leading the league in steals and would be great at SG. I plan on being in full rebuild mode for next season.Best believe we’re coming for the #1 overall pick next season.
2. You still have some solid players on your team. Why are you holding on to them? Many feel you want to much for them. Why are they worth whatever it is your asking for?
I’m still gauging value of players, and what player types are valued more in BBS. It’s tough coming into a league like BBS and start trading right away without being fleeced. I just don’t want to rush into a trade I’ll regret within a few seasons. Brooks, Turner and Young can go for worse expirings if anyone is interested.
3. Aside from just your team, how are things going for you in BBS?
Great, a lot of good GM’s in this league that are also active which for some reason is extremely tough to find. The multiple of articles that are posted each day are great time killers and provide some worthy information on teams/players/GMs. Can’t wait to see how drafts differ from BBS and other leagues. It’s easy to be active when others are active.
4. With the draft file being out, who are you looking at?What do you look for in a potential draftee?
Looks like we’re going to be picking at #8 or #9 which means I’ll probably be taking a big since there are much more decent bigs in this draft than guards.Templeton looks like a fun player, but since Spencer said he sucks at making shooting bigs he might fall and be worth the chance in the late lotto. There are a few bigs who looks like they’ll be able to contribute right away, and with some AC’s and RC’s they could be beast. Who knows though, I might make atrade and end up with a much better pick.
5. Remaining on "what you look for" what kind ofteam do you like to build? What's in your blueprint for a great team?
I haven’tbeen in a league since I recently joined UOSL and now BBS in two years, so I’mstill getting in the swing of things. My blueprint would be great PG and PFwith a shotblocking big, one scoring and one stopper wing. Hopefully I’ll beable to follow through with this blueprint and not rush into anything because Iget bored.
6. Who are the top 5 players in the league? Why?
This is a tough questions considering how many stars are in the league. Not going to put them in order:Melo, LMA, KD, Kobe, Yao. Melo is absolute scorer while shooting some of the best %’s I’ve seen. Unfortunate that he’s stuck on the treadmill that is the Cavs organization. LMA just got traded for Drummond, so that just shows how valuable LMA is since Drummond are one of the best young players in the league.Grizzlies look like a serious contender. The Pistons are the 2nd seed without any other options outside of KD and Cenk. Kobe is leading the Kings tobest record and a probable finals appearance. Amir did take down the Kings while shutting down TD though J. Yao is fucking monster averaging 14.4 rpg which is 1.3 more than the next guy.
7. The top 2 teams out East are the Knicks and Celtics. The Pistons were there at one point but have slowed down a bit. The Hawks are always up there as well. Who comes out of the East? Who's your dark horse?
Both the Knicks and Celtics are sick, but I favor the Knicks. Wade/Lebron/Yao are pretty much unstoppable, but it’ll be interesting to see how MKG plays Lebron if they meet in the playoffs. Celtics need a better 3 guard. Dark horse would be Hawks since they have such a well round team. Knicks are coming out of the East.
8. In the West, it's the Kings with that loaded roster and the Suns with the greatest player in BBS history. After that it's the Spurs and a bunch of other teams. Who's coming out of the West? Who's your dark horse?
Who was the greatest player? Kings are coming out of the West if they are able to avoid injury. Grizzlies look super legit now, so they could cause some trouble for the Kings in the 2nd round if they stay the #4 seed. Grizzlies are my dark horse, and could make a realistic run for the finals.
9. Well, who wins the BBS title this season? What makes this match up interesting?
Knicks vs Kings would be a great finals matchup. The Kings better win the title since any of his stars could retire after this season. Did I mention that we beat the kings while Amir shut TD down?
10. There have been a few teams that have torn it down. Who needs to tear it down next?
Cavs need to tear it down. They don’t have their and they’re not winning, but they have valuable pieces to get youth/picks. They could try building a more efficient team next season, but they don’t have many pieces to trade for upgrades, do we’ll see what happens there. Maybe they just need a better DC.
11. Have you gotten any interesting/odd PM's? Anyone you hate getting PM's from yet?
Nope only trade talk PM’s and even though I haven’t been able to get a deal done
12. How do you feel about the guy doing the drafts openlytalking about the potentials of certain players after TC? Does he have a right to say anything, even if it's fairly obvious anyways?
That’s aterrible idea, and can easily ruin a players value if some GM’s weren’t madeaware of that fact. If they aren’t active enough to research a player theyshouldn’t be rewarded with backing out of trade. Let the GM’s decide who is orisn’t a bust.
13. On that note, what are your thoughts on the Spencer/Brophswitch? Will there be any problems going forward?
Should becool considering Spencer seems to genuinely enjoy making files/drafts. Fakeplayers should be fun since there are GM’s who value name value over actualtalent. I don’t see us running into any problems considering Spencer has donethis for years and Broph doesn’t seem the type to cheat even if he has someinside information on some players.
14. Well, tell us about Mike. Who are your favorite teams?Any funny stories?
Eh, favorite teams are Clippers, Ducks,Padres, and Chargers. Finally the I get to root for some good teams after yearsof struggling. Chargers need a better oline and they need to get rid ofMathews. Actually, they need pretty much everything except a QB, but hopefullythe new GM will be able to deliver. Padres will always suck though. Ducks andClippers look like serious contenders. Only went to one Clippers game thisseason and we came during the second half since the two idiots wore the samehat/jacket combo and obviously one needed to change. Lol. Funny story? I know someone who was picked to attempt a half-courtshot at a college game and it didn’t reach the FT line. Best I could do onshort notice.
