We're getting crappy wind and hail here in Michigan, I can't imagine what it's like on the east coast.
Sounds like the right precautionary measures are being taken to ensure that as many people stay safe as possible. Probably because this effects a part of the country people care about.

Tried to go to Home Depot and drove by an abandoned audi on the road impaled by tree tree Smh we got to home depot and it's closed no power trees and power lines down all around my house luckily our block was fairly untouched

We've been getting pounded with rain/wind/snow/sleet but it hasn't been TOO treacherous.
The mountains near us have almost 2 feet of snow though.
