MVP: Tim Duncan
Duncan taking home another MVP award. Until the last 2 gms voted for Dirk and Baron all of the votes were given to Duncan or Kobe. Can't fault the choice as Duncan led the Celtics to 69 wins while scoring 26.7 ppg on 50.5% and grabbing 13.4 boards. Kobe was no slouch, leading the league in scoring again, but fell just short again.
Other players receiving votes: Kobe Bryant – 6, Baron Davis – 1, Dirk Nowitzki.
DPOTY: Tim Duncan
Duncan led the league in boards and was 4th in blocks. Also chipped in 1.3 spg. Not a runaway winner but won pretty easily garnering 10 out of 17 votes.
Other players receiving votes: Tyson Chandler – 6, theo ratliff -1
6th man of the year: Brandon Roy
Being able to win this award while coming in third in the roty voting just shows how useless this award is.
Other players receiving votes: Grant Hill – 3, Calderon -1, Ron Turiaf -1, Jerry Stackhouse – 1, Korolev – 1, curry -1.
ROTY: LaMarcus Aldridge
Doesn't have the sexy ratings but puts up stats. 21 pts, 9 boards, a block, 1.3 stls with solid %s is enough to get roty. He looks primed to take the next step and become a superstar within the next year or 2. I wonder if Broph is kicking himself at this point for taking Roy?
Other players receiving votes: Rajon Rondo – 4, Brandon Roy -3.
Gmoty: Broph.
Runaway winner. Really the only cy team that had a big year from start to finish and he did it without Ben for most of the year. Broph deserves the award, just ask him "GM of the Year: Me...no seriously, me, I dont see who did a better job".
Other gms receiving votes: Skillz-2, DBW – 1.
All star teams (points in parentheses – maximum points is 51)
TD was the only unanimous selections, with shaq coming in first on all ballots except for one. Really no close votes on the top 2 teams. Kidd edged out Francis to get on the third team. What does Cenk have to do to get more love?
