1) Milwaukee Bucks select Andrew Wiggins SG 6'7'' 200 19 B- B- C+ B- C A
Based on name recognition, Wiggins goes at the top of the draft board.
As long as he has solid potential, he'll be able to overcome the dreaded B- rating, which from experience can be a hurdle at times, especially for the inside rating.
That being said, I'm sure it won't be a concern for whoever drafts 1st. Wiggins is 19 and the odds of him being a bust or not becoming an All-Star are slim to none.
Pretty safe pick here.
2) The Chicago Bulls select Nerlens Noel PF 6'11'' 225 20 B D+ C- B+ C+ A
Another pick that largely goes this high due to name recognition, but also because of his solid big man ratings.
As long as whoever drafts him pumps up his rebounding by putting an AC and RC into both his defensive and offensive rebounding, I imagine that Noel will be a high level big man.
His shooting will never be great, but his good ball handling will be an asset.
Noel is also a safe pick, the risk/reward is pretty much as advertised.
3) The Toronto Raptors select Jimmy Murphy PG 5'10'' 175 22 C C A C D A
When someone has elite handles advertised as an asset, especially at the point guard position, it's hard to pass them up.
Unfortunately, Murphy also has high passing advertised, which means that it will be hard for him to ever be a high level passer. Also, his rebounding is very low, which detracts from a team's overall prospects.
Murphy is an interesting prospect, because if his potential is high and he ends up being C+ B- A+ B- D C, he could be a very high level point guard who wins games solely by being an efficient player.
4) The New Orleans Hornets select Brody Weller SG 6'4'' 203 21 B- C+ B- B- C+ A
Weller seems like the big boom or bust prospect in this draft.
The big question mark comes from his notes, which indicates that he's both strong and a good athlete, meaning that his inside rating is likely pretty low.
Weller will go high because he's well-rounded and even if he has low "A" potential, he'll still amount to being a solid player.
5) L.A. Lakers select Nate Templeton C 6'8'' 285 22 C B+ A- C B+ A
Yes, we know that outside shooting big man often suck.
Yes, we know that he can't play SF, SG or PG (obviously)
Yes, we know that Spencer has never created a good outside shooting big man
BUT... THOSE RATINGS!
6) Miami Heat select Vadim Yakimov SG 6'8'' 185 19 C+ C C- A C A
19 years old, stud defender... 'nuff said?
His rebounding is good, but the big question mark not addressed in the notes are the low handling grade. Could his handles be a liability?
Yakimov looks like he'll be a stud defender, but nothing more. Sometimes, that's all that teams are looking for.
7) Seattle Supersonics select Gavin Hunt PF 6'7'' 257 19 A- D+ D C+ C+ C
Another young player, but with low advertised potential.
Hunt will be a beast inside, but his rebounding will keep him from being an elite big man.
Hopefully, for whoever drafts him, he has better potential than advertised and can become an elite big man.
8) The Golden State Warriors select Jermaine Reed PG 6'2'' 188 19 C+ C+ C C D+ A
The point guard described as "bonerific" may go higher than this, but the poor handles will make it hard to justify.
If he's as raw as the notes make him out to be, he could end up being a B B B type PG, which essentially makes him a decent starter.
This is another case of incredible notes that get overlooked because the ratings make it hard for them to ever be a true star.
9) The Minnesota Timberwolves select Anatoly Rientizis C 7'5'' 325 20 C D F C A- A
A HUGE player with poor athleticism, huge strength and rebounding with a Russian first name and Greek last name... Seems too good to be true.
The big issue is that he will always be an offensive liability and his defense is suspect as well.
FBB has proven that rebounding can win championships and if Anatoly has high rebounding, he'll be an asset.
10) The Utah Jazz select Erik Osgood C 7'6'' 289 20 B- D+ C- B B- B
"Should sneak into the lottery" isn't a glowing endorsement, but he's huge, can handle, block, board and score, so where's the downside?
Osgood should be an immediate starter and while he doesn't have huge upside, if someone wants a player who is multi-dimensional rather than a lot of the one-dimensional guys here, then Osgood appears to be a pretty safe bet.
11) The Cleveland Cavaliers select Sylvester Redd PF 6'10'' 225 19 B- C+ C B C+ B
Another young player who is versatile, but he has a few holes in his game.
For starters, solid passer and high TOs isn't exactly what you want from your PG, although, it could certainly make his stats look nice.
His rebounding needs to improve, but he has good size.
With Redd, what you see is what you get.
12) The New York Knicks select Jabari Gates SF 6'8'' 212 20 C+ C+ C+ B+ C B
Has a lot of good things going for him.
Gates isn't athletic, which in FBB is a plus. He's a good defender and he'll be ready to play immediately while having some upside.
The biggest turn off is "a bit lazy", which leads me to believe that his ratings may not get much better.
13) The L.A. Clippers select Mason Smith PF 6'10'' 225 19 C+ D+ D C+ C A
Not much to say about this guy because not much has been said about his skill set. All that we know is that he has monster upside.
This makes selecting him very nerve-wracking, but he is the ultimate risk/reward prospect in this draft.
Based on name recognition, Wiggins goes at the top of the draft board.
